Was it Steven Pearl throwing down the best game as a Vol on National TV, Hopson's solid play and drive at will attitude, Mel Goins' relentless D combo'd with a nifty fake out and offensive contributions OR FINALLY McBee's flawless showing in Nashville. I think McBee should play the 6 more often. JMO but GO VOLS!

Best game Ive seen from Pearl and McBee (ha) but gotta give it to Melvin. He was definantly the point guard we've been missing. I really though this was his year to break out and amaze folks but hes been too inconsistant. He played great D, penetrated and dished nicely. The layup, where it looked like he was fixing to dunk it, and the fake were beautiful. I really loved his play tonight.

pearl defense was relentless and scotty looked like a fifth year senior that knew how to finish a team off.... all in all great effort by all our young men.

Please enough with the McBee stuff. How has he played any worse than any of the other players. I mean the guy was a walk on. If u wanna make fun of someone get on the 4* players that he is playing ahead of.

lulz at the McBee comments. he was definitely where we need him to be if we wanna keep winning. Pearl had a solid game, but you gotta give it to Hopson. He took over at the end and put the game away.

On a side note BW needs to **** after he fouls someone. It would be different if he didn't gripe every single time. I thought Hopsons ability to get Ezeli and Tchangang (sp) in foul trouble was superb. Then to continue until they fouled out was brilliant.

Steven Pearl's play was great during his 13 or so minutes. Scotty Hopson had a great final 10 minutes or so. He only took over after missing his second straight free throw, (front end of a one and one at that) and getting ripped by Pearl during a timeout. IMHO i'm sure Pearl was telling him if he wanted to be the man. To play like the man. Play picked immediatley afterwords. Goins played like a man playing his last game as he took over the game on both ends of the court. Brian Williams I'll give a free pass on the free throw or pass to the ref. Whatever you want to call it. It's tough to play though when you've got the flu and you could see in his face he wasn't up to par and played descent concidering. Cam Tatum.... wow. Whats up with you? Bone=defensive stud. Golden played a good backup role last night. Need that every night. The game was hard to watch but the defensive effort won the game with some timely offense and free throw shooting at the end. So i'm going with effort as the player of the game. Pearl's teams have always given great effort in the past. When this team lays it on the line good things happen. They should refer to effort alot more often when they're wondering why they're not winning instead of trying to find a different excuse each game.

He's done that since he was a freshman. I was hoping it would change his senior year but it hasn't. He could knock someone down and then claim it wasn't him :) He does get several crap calls every game but I think that's due to the refs getting tired of his griping.
