Any sport, the one that was a mystery to me was Eric Parker at San Diego, the guy did nothing at UT but is a starter in the NFL.

I've always thought Ron Slay was underrated, but I'm not a Vol fan so what do I know?

didnt he win sec mvp his seinor year???

I personally think its got to be gibril wilson. I mean he was good in college, but he is a stud for the Giants.... He is all over the field everygame getting tackles and making huge hits..... dont know if he falls under underrated category or not just sayin...

Mark Jones is one that comes to mind. I'm not sure if you could call him underrated, but I don't remember ever reading a lot about him. I mean, he played offense, defense and special teams. Solid player.

Oh, I didn't know that we were including staff members. Yes, vol_freak was the best waterboy in the country. Did he get any love from ESPN or anything? No.

I think they featured him once on the Wide World of Sports in an "agony of defeat" moment. But that was ABC.

He was a good punt returner. He is 2nd on the all-time list in punts returned and 3rd in total punt return yards.

His other play is a bit of a mystery though.

I don't think you can be underrated and have a street named after you . . .

My vote is for James Stewart. That guy was solid for 4 years.

This goes way back to my earliest memory of the Vols, but how about Pat Ryan? I don't think he ever even started a game at UT, but he managed to play in the NFL for a long time.

I am pretty sure he started several games his Senior year before Jimmy Streater took his job.

Sam Graddy. Not sure he ever caught a pass as a VOL but played in the NFL 'cause he was a fast mutha.
