Who will be QB against missouri??????

Didnt Butch say they felt that worley could have played in the second half. If thats how I interpreted it then I feel like at half he decided that dobbs was better than Worley and worth burning his rs. If this is the case then Butch would be crazy to not start dobbs and see what he has. He really has a perfect storm, unlike Peterman where he looked like he may have made a bad choice, he can just say Worley isnt ready and if dobbs sucks then back to Worley.

Why burn Fergy's redshirt given our depth situation and Dobbs' play? If it was a coach's decision to play Dobbs over both Worley and Fergy then maybe the story the media and posters have put out as Fergy being the obvious #2 is simply wrong. The coaches never did name one over the other and I've yet to see any solid evidence one way or the other -- just media speculation.

For all we know Ferguson, needs more time to learn the playbook and mature for both his benefit and ours. It's obvious he wants to play (at least his family/uncle has been vocal about that) but it doesn't make much sense to burn TWO redshirts, especially right now?

I thought that Ferg had an injury during practice ?

There's been a bit of conflict on this. He was seen limping at practice and had on a leg device. However, the coaches decision referred mostly to the choice of Dobbs over Worley. There's been no real mention of Fergy explicitly that I know of with regards to coaches making a replacement decision -- probably left intentionally vague since we NEED all our QBs.

I just can't see burning two redshirts right now. Too high risk, imo.

I would play them both next week. Start Worley if thumb is okay due to his command of offense. Put Dobbs in in certain situations to have more of a threat to run and throw off the run. I usually don't like playing 2 qb's but I would roll with it. I did coach football for a couple seasons and I sucked, so tifwiw.

I'd give Worley a permanent spot on the bench. He misses wide open passes too much. He's absolutely terrible. A freshman would be better.

early in the year he missed many, but he got better. There are many plays where it looks like he missed but on further review, he is getting hit as he releases the ball, or a receiver falls (happened yesterday actually and it looked like it was a bad throw but his receiver fell down), or drops the pass.

Worley is no all star by any stretch, but the amount of grief he takes is absurd. He beat USC, almost beat UGA, and would have beaten Florida had he started the game. You say a freshman would do better but a redshirt freshman actually did much worse against Florida.

If Worley's thumb isn't better he shouldn't start. We all saw on the pick six that he couldn't get enough zip on the ball, and he doesn't need that killing his confidence.

agree, but I would start him if it is better. I doubt it will be.

Dobbs and Ferguson should platoon the rest of the way. We have nothing to lose only the future to gain. We need to bench everyone who missed a tackle in every game. I am 63 and could cover on special teams. We must slow down and learn fundamentals and fans must be patient. We gave away 4 touchdowns from poor tackling that's 28 points. You can not do this in the SEC.

So, bench the entire D and half the special teams? Wait did palardy miss a tackle too? I don't know if I can get behind this logic.

When you play the number 1 team with the number 1 recruiting class, yer probably going to miss a tackle or two.

Step away from the ledge

If he is not hurt, Worley will be QB, but he will be on a short leash. I noticed there were no audibles with Dobbs in. The coaches don't want to put too much pressure on Dobbs. So this will limit the offense, so it's a healthy Worley starting next week.

Worley doesn't audible either he looks to the sideline to get his call/audibles.... Pretty sure Dobbs can do that. Not that complicated for someone as smart as Dobbs to get a call from the sideline. Biggest thing for Dobbs will be getting guys in right place and recognizing the blitz his feet will help to cover some mistakes.

I was a strong proponent of keeping the red shirt on both players...that contingency is gone...I see the case for maintaining Riley' s extra year, but in this competitive shell game, anything garnered as denying him a shot at competing with Dobbs is going to be received poorly...And you lose him anyway...If Dobbs plays lights out the rest of the way and progressively gets a clamp on the starting job...real or perceived....RF will have a reaction :twocents:

the fact that the redshirt has been used makes this very very true IMO

This is later than all those dates. I'll take the risk of Dobbs over Worley's sloppiness. Palardy and our defense beat SC, not Worley. Don't get causes and effects mixed up.

My hope is that Dobbs plays, but I dont want dobbs to get hurt either. Then again that does not seem likely given our O line, and the fact that we play mizzou next week. I feel a lot better about playing them.

I don't think you've been payin attention to Mizzou this year. they're were never worthy of a #5 ranking, but they're a top 20 team.

I really liked what I saw of Dobbs yesterday, but can anyone tell me why he has no eyebrows? My husband says that he must shave them and that is a gang sign. He doesn't seem like a gang banger...
