Another season is vastly approaching, and our return game is in question once again. Who will PF and company put their faith in to handle these duties?? Most people seem to think it will be Lucas Taylor and Jonathon Hefney. I would like to see the coaches try someone like meachem or jonathon wade. What do you guys think?? Also, the coaches seem to take a different approach to coaching special teams each year. What angle do you think they'll take this year???

Hopefully they'll watch film from teams that do well on special teams, and learn a few things.

I don't see why Inky doesn't get a chance. He has returned alot in practice for TDs but never gets a chance in the games. I'd also like to see D-Mo get a chance.

I don't care who they put back there as long as they catch and hold onto the ball, I'm more concerned with the fellows blocking and how well the make a wedge and avoid blocking in the back.

So Fellows inability to block is our ST problem?

I think that's a lot of it. Our guys get way out in the middle of nowhere, compared to where the guy with the ball is, and make bad blocks. They need to get back and provide a pocket so that the returner had some room to nagivate. Making a block behind the returner, or too far out front is no good.

I second the motion. He returned a punt 85 yards in the spring game last year...looked pretty impressive to me.

Right there with you. I'm sure it isn't the case, but it seemed last year like our net punt return yardage HAD to have been a negative number -- given the penalties and muffed catches. There were times when I was praying that the ST would all just run to the sidelines after the kick and let the opponent down it wherever it came to stop to avoid a penalty or turnover.

Would it be against NCAA rules if everyone in Neyland had a mirror and redirected the sunlight into the eyes of the other team's returner?

For some reason, I think I remember Inky doing something terrible last year at a crucial point in a game. Any help, or am I having a brain fart?

Well he racked up more yards in one return than all of our returners last year combined..... :banghead:

AHAHAHAH Please tell me you knew he meant fellows (guys, players) and not Reshawn.

Inky got a chance to return kickoffs, but he never did anything noteworthy. I'm not sure if he screwed up like Heffney did or Lucas Taylor almost did, though.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I was thinking of Taylor. Like most of us, I've tried to forget last season entirely.
