It was nice to see Obama flustered a few times, but I don't think the debates will play a major impact one way or the other. If Obama wins, it won't be because of the debates, or vice versa. This talk that McCain had to have a knockout shot is wrong. It certainly would have helped, but it's going to be what happens over the next few eeeks with the economy etc. that will decide it.

The snap polls all say Obama won tonight.

CNN poll: Obama 58, McCain 31. Among independent voters in the CNN poll, Obama won 57-31, essentially matching his advantage from among all viewers

CBS Undecideds: Obama 53, McCain 22.

MediaCurves independents: Obama 60, McCain 30.

Frank Luntz focus group (Fox) went for Obama too.

I will say Obama revealed a more of a government as the solution and redistribution mentality than he has in any other debate. This was his worst and most uncomfortable performance. I believe he revealed his true philosophies. I just don't think it matters to enough people.

Nope.

He's literally the "savior" to many, many people. Very sad. He could get up there and pick his nose and fart 3 times, and I don't think the Obamanites would care.

I think there are far more that like what they hear - and that bothers me more than the zealots.

Well that's true; the left wingers I can understand, but what gets me is some that I know that at least claim to be conservative and are supporting him. That I can't wrap my head around.
