Not only did they get a 2 seed, but they are the 2 seed in the bracket with the overall #1 team and get to play a very motivated Army team.

Is this the first time in Lady Vols history in which they do not have a higher seed in the tournament than the men's team?

BS. I am dumbfounded. How the heck can that happen. Then towards the end that one lady was talking about Ohio State and thier backup point guard and injured players. What a load of crap.

hey a 2 seed is no diffrent then a 1. you still got to play your games and no matter what they were going to have to go through some rough teams. they should be ok, they are very battle tested and they should be able to take care of buisness.

Well if they win the whole thing in this bracket no 1 can deny their skill both in coaching and players.... if the lady vols do end up going all the way, will CPS be worth 1 mill then? :blush2:

I liked it when he asked, "So you're saying that Tennessee is the weakest #2 seed since UNC is the overall #1?"

Ole committee gal, "Well no...um...we thought...is this thing on...oh...okay...well...we looked at location...we placed the #2 seeds to their closest area/region." :huh:

At any rate we're in the toughest bracket...or so I've been told...if we make it to the final four we've really earned it...

I'm not trying to be negative, but the LV deserved a 2 seed, but not the toughest 2 seed.

And don't be upset, our mean got overseeded, we can't complain. :)

Exactly... this is women's basketball afterall. They shouldn't have a tough game til they meet the 1s, other 2s, or maybe a 3 seed.

As I look at it now, it IS *BS* to have UT a 2 seed. I must say UT deserved it over LSU. The only reason I can think of LSU getting the 1 seed is 14-1 conference mark and losing to better teams than UT did. STILLLLL, should be a 1. However, a 2 seed isn't a slap in the face, IMO. The slap in the face is putting us as the weakest 2 seed.

Doesn't matter though, UT shines in the NCAA tournament.

That's the toughest region of all that the Lady Vols are in! Whoever makes it to the finals deserves it and I hope the team is wearing "BIG ORANGE!" :clapping:

Well its really not that hard to figure out why UT received a number 2 seed and I actually believe your coach truly knows the answer despite her reaction. They didn't win the SEC championship. They were blown out by 22 points by Duke and lost 3 SEC games - two to unranked teams. That is not the pedigree of a number one seed - clearly.

And by the way, though some players are claiming they won the championship, it bears repeating that they won the "tournament championship" - something that is not nearly as important as a season of conference games. As for the tournament championship game, it was so close it could have gone either way. Indeed LSU missing that front end of a 1 and 1 was costly to us.

I think this is a motivation technique by Summitt and I think its a good move - go into the tournament with the attitude of a team that isn't being respected. Though its a veteran coaching tactic, she is still wrong. UT didn't deserve a number one seed. Now, in the tournament, a hot shooting Zolman could be all the difference. Funny, I had some nice correspondence with your lady vols AD two years ago about Zolman - she agreed.

As a tiger fan, I am hoping you guys get to the final 4 and if you think about it, what does it matter if you played NC then or later? If we somehow play you again, I just hope our coaching staff is capable of defending wide open 3s and our players do a better job of fighting through screens.
