....can he please get rid of the weekend softball uniforms and wear traditional jerseys all the time?

I'm sorry, I hate most of our uniforms. Get rid of the solid stripes down the side, especially with pinstripes.

Will to be honest, it is hard to judge uniforms when Todd Raleigh is in 2 of the photos. :D

I have always hated the orange helmets.

The large strip on sides is actually a different breathable material. I unfortunately think Adidas just has some ugly baseball uniforms. Surely we can ask them to do better and give us something a little more conservative or traditional.

I miss the black cap with interlocking UT and orange bill. Why we would abandon the hat that we were our best I never understood.

Hate to say this. I like the black baseball uniforms. Solid or pinstripe. It more traditional to baseball. I like the solid white (Detroit Tiger) polar opposite as well. Just a simple logo on one side of chest. And also the vest style uniforms that have suddenly gone out of style everywhere.; about as fast as when they came into style.

I remember when the baseball team got the vests for the first time (before a home NCAA regional game I believe) and the staff was trying to figure out what color shirt to wear underneath.

Colors are important traditions in baseball.

Shoes should be black
Stadium seats should be green
Nets should be green
There should be black or dark blue somewhere on the pants or jersey
Betting helmets should be black
Baseballs should be white
Catcher gear should be black
White foul poles (even if it makes no sense to do so)
Outfield walls should be green

Additionally, I knew when we hired a Jack Legget disciples that the Clemson "pajama" style was coming in some shape or fashion. I hate pants tucked almost into shoes! Short pants and socks just look "right"

Luckily, Raleigh never did bring the ugly, ass Clemson pullover jerseys that I can't stand. It may not have been his choice. Adidas may not have had any. Clemson has the circa-1981 uniforms (may still do) pullover jersey, white pants tucked into white shoes. Ugly as sin.

This uniform style is primarily why I think Jack Leggett is an overrated, color-blind idiot.

When CU purchases these shoes from K-mart, do the players cut the plastic ties that hold
them together or does the training staff

The new coach needs to dump the Toy-R-Us batting helmets and get some that actually match our uniforms. On TV it looks embarrassing

Baseball is different than other sports regarding secondary colors. I have no problem with the black, just don't have it a huge solid stripes down the side. I've always wanted to bring up how bad our uniforms were, but with Raleigh as coach there were bigger things to complain about.

When you wear nothing but school colors, you end up with ugly Clemson crap.

Black is a neutral color for every mlb team and is traditional to the sport. Not saying the school should change colors but add the traditional neutral color to make uniform look good. The other neutral baseball color is gray as any team trying to follow tradition at all, has a gray road uniform.

Orange and White batting helmets are not traditional and hideous. The only exception to non black helmets MAY be red. but since our colors are not red,. and red is not neutral then go with the neutral black.

I also thought I would like new orange or white ballcaps. Now that we have them I must say, I was wrong. An orange bill is great but hats should be black.

When baseball as a whole was returning to traditional roots in the 90s, almost every SEC team had black hats with their logo and it looked great. If you recall, MLB was finally pulling out of the polyester hell of the 70s and 80s. They kicked out the embarrassing powder blue road unis (see Cardinals, Expos, Cubs, Braves, Phillies, Royals) and went back to white and gray. Teams got rid of the pullovers (Tigers, A's) and some went back to old jersey after popular throwback games (ChiSox, BoSox) The MLB guys started returning to "knee-breeches" ditching the "Osh-Kosh-Bgosh"/Clemson look. Finally many returned to some old logos (Phillies, WhiteSox)

right :eek:k::eek:k:

So do you propose we have a white and a grey uniform and call it a day? Almost every team in the majors has alternate uniforms (minus the Yankees).. Braves have red and blue, boston red and blue, orioles orange and black, angels red, brewers blue, rays navy, marlins black, st. louis red, etc, etc. What's wrong with a black uniform? It's actually a primary trim color in baseball. Sorry they don't wear all orange hats, jerseys, pants, socks, and cleats to fit your liking.

i guess black would work as a very slight trim, but only that. baseball isn't so bad, but all teams basketball and football using black as a school color. no way i would

We don't like it when the mention of non orange white uniforms comes up in the football forum, but it's an outrage that the baseball team wears the school colors? Are all fan bases this weird about clothing?

I honestly think an orange pinstripe uniform has the potential to look good. That with a power T on the right of the uniform could look great if done properly.

I don't mind the black in the jerseys either. I just want a more traditional look.

Burke said he would "86" the black out of our uniforms and go with the orange and white.

Having said that:

Would he 86 the clown helmets in the wrong shade of orange? I can somewhat buy the argument made by the athletic department that the shades of orange vary a bit because of the material. But , why can't a hard plastic material be adjusted to match the rest of the uniform?

The uniforms have been absolutely hideous in the Raliegh era. Please get rid of the awful cursive writing, the stupid side stripes (that goes for all sports), and yes, the orange batting helmets look silly.

I thought the baseball team relied too much on black in the Delmonico era but geez at least the uniforms looked good. As much as I can't stand the cliched "let's do a black uniform" that's sweeping sports, I have to say I don't mind it being a secondary color, and i don't mind an occasional black uniform. I just think the uniform should primarily be orange and white.

Having said that, all the current uniforms need to burned.

Look pretty dang good to me. No softball looks in those at all. Thanks for proving our point.

Oh, that's right. My mistake. Those look like high school JV uniforms. Belong to the teams that get all the sloppy seconds from the varsity teams.

If you think any of those look worse than what we wear now you are crazy. Those look 100x better than the crap Raleigh put out there. Like a wise man once told me.. Half of playing good is looking good.
