I thought after Peyton left it would cancel out a lot of the Vols/Colts fans. Yet Peyton is gone and there are still Colts fans on here and in the state.

Why the Colts?

First off why do you care there are fans of the Colts on here and in the state?

And like I said many times, some of us are not just fans of Peyton but actual fans of the Colts. I am not sure why that is so hard for some to process.

Haha. I get so frustrated on here with Titans fans being so worried about with Colts fans are fans. They don't question any other fanbase, only Colts. I am sure you remember what it was like. Trust me if Denver were to beat the Titans a couple of time with Peyton they would be all over you all then.

Because a lot of them, like vfj, that were just bandwagon Peyton fans, eventually convinced themselves they were fans of the franchise.

Some of us were 30+ years old when the Oilers landed in Tennessee.

If Tennessee had no NFL team right now, what team would you be a fan of and why?

If TN didn't have a team, I wouldn't watch the NFL with any rooting interest other than fantasy. I never have been able to get into teams I wasn't geographically connected to. I didn't watch the NBA until I realized Memphis was an actual basketball team. Fairweather? Maybe. But I assure you, now that I am on the Memphis bandwagon, a decade or more of mediocrity will not kick me off.

"Fair weather " fan I'm not. If the Broncos never win another game while Peyton is there, I'm still a Peyton fan. Just how I grew up. I was a Reggie White, Bill Bates, Alvin Harper and still want Dallas to do well because of Jason Witten (even tho my hatred for Jerry Jones exists).

Hell, if Hardesty is still with the Browns when Peyton retires.....I'm a Cleveland fan the next day.

Label me however you want, it is what it is.

I was a Panthers fan before the Titans came to Nashville. When I was younger, they were the closest upstart team to me geographically, so I rooted for them.

Once I went to an Oilers game at Vandy stadium, and realized we had a team in the city now, I was hooked.

Not to mention the Titans getting to the SB in year 1. Was insane.

I was talking about myself with Memphis and the NBA.

I know man, but I've had this discussion with other Titan fans and just wanted to clarify. I wish I had grown up with TN having an NFL team.:cray:

I'm not crucifying Colts fans for it, just asking.

I like to watch the teams that former Vols play for and hope for the best.

Even though I mostly watch RedZone on Sundays, I still root for D Mo, E Berry, Peyton, Mayo, Foster, Meach, Ayers, etc etc

listing those names just made me realize how good we used to be

I had already moved to Florida and "committed" to Peyton and The Colts.

there was very little NFL love in TN prior to the titans and Manning. This was especially true in East TN. Once Manning went to the NFL lots of people started following the Colts and it was easy since all their games were shown on local tv.

Now that those people have been following a team since 1998 you just expect them to drop and cheer for what was a division rival for all those years? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense does it?

I was a Colts fan before I went to UT and became a Vols fan. The Indy fanhood had to do with being from Virginia and not wanting to root for the Redskins so my 11 year old self just picked a team. No one will believe me now with the degree from UT, they just assume it's because of Peyton.

By the way, I would have given my intelligent left nut for Peyton to have signed with the Titans.

My apologies, I took your question wrong.

It just gets frustrating living in Tenn and always being questioned about being a fan of the Colts. Anytime I wear something Colts out I get questioned and it's usually something like "hey man you still a Colts fan even though Peyton is gone"

Why do people not question Steelers, Cowboys or Panthers fans? And Indy is not that far from Middle Tenn, there is not much difference driving from Murfreesboro to Memphis and driving Murfreesboro to Indy.
