Why Corey Walker isn’t playing

If Walker is 6'8", Pons is at least 6'9" ......Olivier is 6'10", Fulky 6'11" and Plavsic is 7'2"......J/S

The 6-foot-8 forward missed time because of COVID-19 and battled a November toe injury that sidelined him during the early part of the season.

I agree he doesn't seem as tall as Pons but sometimes pictures are deceiving. Pember is about an inch taller then Walker at the shoulders but thanks to a go go gadget neck has him by 5 inches in height.

Looks to be maybe an inch or two taller than anosike. Neck length doesn't mean anything. Look at the goofy white boy next to him. While he is a good two inches taller, their shoulder height is almost identical.
He and pemper look like they are in one of those tribes that stretches your neck.

So once he starts getting minutes, what can we expect from him? I didn’t see any of his high school highlights. What type of player is he? Where would he fit in the offense?

Haha....yep.

But if Walker is two inches taller than Pons, I need to get my eyes checked. Maybe its a depth perception thing. Maybe Pons is standing 3-4 feet closer.

At any rate, Walker looks like a JV player that the picture guy told to stand in the back row.

How do you figure? They are both in the back row with one person between them. If he was three feet closer he’d be in Springer’s lap.
In fact this pic is easy to check height because of the lines on the back wall. The two rows are lined up straight as you can tell because the front row has all their feet lined up on the FT line.
Anosike is 6'4" at best.

I was being just a little sarcastic. I don't believe Walker is 6'8"..........I think he's 6'6" at best, probably closer to 6'5"...

My larger point is that I'm not sold on him being an answer for us in the front court in the near future. I think he's much more likely to contribute as a swing forward when he decides to get in shape and play harder.

Everyone knows a basketball rosters posted height is the same as a teenage boy telling his penis length. It ain't true.

You're right! I've usually found it to be relatively accurate to subtract two inches from a high school players listed height and 1 inch from a college player. Today's NBA is spot on.

What’s strange is UT under Barnes has been pretty accurate about their heights listed, if you look at NBA measurements on UT guys they’re much closer than other schools...but clearly Walker isn’t the same height as ORN, yet listed the same, I’m wondering if maybe Walker is slouching or something a bit in the picture. They also try to kind of go tallest to shortest and clearly the guy to his right looks taller in the pic, so idk.

We didn't have a top 10 team when Admiral was a freshman.
True, but after seeing Pember, it's hard to see where Walker wouldn't give you better minutes than, even if Walker were 25 pounds overweight. Not saying Pember can't get better, but right now just to slow and weak to compete.

I'd say 6'7" as I think Ponz was officially measure by the NBA at 6'6". Of course Ponz has a 7' wingspan.

We'll agree to disagree about a kids height that I'm clearly looking at and comparing to others in a picture. I suppose it's possible he's slouching.

Its important to remember Grant was measured at 6'5" at the NBA combine after being 6'7" his entire career here. Since the draft combine, he's slipped on his sneakers and is now 6'6" as his official height.

I agree that Pons is a beast. His athleticism and wingspan obviously make him one of the best front court players in the country. I don't think there's alot of players with his exact size/skill set period.....in the NBA or CBB...

This was addressed, Tennessee used to measure without shoes, thus the 6’5” listing for GW by UT...they switched to shoe measurements and that is where the 6’7” came in.
