Why did Randy Moss do Tillman like that?

In case you didn't read the article, these are the names that came into the league in that amount of time. IMHO, labeling the young man as better than them will do nothing but give the haters tons of ammo. "DeSean Jackson, Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, A.J. Green, DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham Jr., Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase".

I’m not sure I buy that Moss actually said this. I saw this quote making the rounds but never saw anything from a reliable source. And what show was this supposedly on?

This is the earliest tweet I’ve seen on it and it referenced Sirius “FM” and was posted by a known Browns troll.

Don't get me wrong. Tillman has an incredible opportunity and all the tools and talent to become one of the best, but to label him as better than all of those guys is a reach given we already know what their production has been and have no data on Cedric in the NFL yet.

Now if whomever said that statement placed a comparative qualifier in the mix then yes, I agree - Tillman has the best talent level of any incoming WR in the last 15 years.

Someone on reddit said Moss didn't say it. It got posted on a board and people ran with it.

If you look at the link I provided to Pro Football Network and view their page. It looks like a legitimate media outlet, even though trying to cross-reference that statement with other outlets proved fruitless.

He said Tillman is the best WR to enter the league in the last 15 years! That's a heck of a burden to place on the young man with the names that have come in, in that amount of time!
'Best Young Receiver To Enter NFL in Past 15 Years' -- NFL Hall of Famer Has Shocking Opinion Surrounding Browns WR Cedric Tillman
Glad fake Randy Moss agrees with me. I've been saying it for a bit I think the Tillman is a much better overall NFL prospect than Hyatt is. Not knocking Hyatt at all I just think Tillman is that complete. Heck Hyatt is up in NY showing out.

Well, real article or not, Tillman has all the tools to become one of the leagues best WRs and, IMO, the best WR out of UT in years. But daaaammmnnnnn, the friggin' Browns??? Can Watson scramble long enough to get a pass attempt off to him?? Good luck CT.

Folks are hard to please, if somebody doesn't say that he's the best, they would be "disrespecting" him in alot of the same people's minds.

True quote or fake, I will agree with one point, a lot of teams are going to end up with egg on their faces and looking rather foolish for overlooking Tillman. And I will say the same regarding Hendon (looking at YOU Titans 😡)

Yes I think Ced will be better in the NFL too because of his physical attributes. Hyatt is going to make a ton of big plays but I think he'll need some time to adjust. Ced is built to hit the ground running and Watson will probably be better than Jones going forward.

Tillman is a VFL and will be a solid nfl player. An equal to Justin Jefferson? No fn way. This is pure BS even though I think Tillman may have a few 1000 yard 7 TD seasons in him.

If Moss was going to say that statement it would have been about Hyatt not Tillman.

Sure, unless he really felt that way about Tillman. I've personally always thought he would be the better of the 2, and no that's not a shot at Hyatt. I think they'll both be good.

I don't have an issue with this comment.
