Why didn't Kaleb Webb play any?

Not really shocked Webb didn't get any playing time this year. Future should be bright for him though.

Heard he was gonna be a stub all offseason. Did he redshirt? Can he play in Orange bowl? Any info?
Not being a smart aleck but he has to earn it. I believe that Nimrod got a little PT though he didn't make a catch. With 4 WR's now out of the depth chart ahead of them, they have an opportunity in the Orange Bowl.

I think part of the reason you don't see more receivers play is the fact that we just don't substitute much during offensive series to force opponents into bad situations. That alone would limit receivers from getting on the field. Not due to lack of talent, you just aren't subbing so you can take advantage of the situation it places on the opposing defense.

True. Uptempo offense does not allow for substitutions so both on RB and WR you are not getting on the field until you learn entire offense. Very rarely you'll see field for a play or two.

He played four snaps versus Ball State. Could’ve sworn he also played vs UTM some but I’ll have to see.

He will redshirt. He played in 3 games so he could play in the bowl game and still redshirt.

I don't recall hearing anything about expectations for him. About 1% of true freshman play as studs as true freshman. Talking about all freshman across college football.

Likely we had more play than would’ve been ideal as well. We’re playing younger guys out of necessity imo right now.

Yea, and it means the RBs and WRs have to be very versatile - the WRs must know the routes out of multiple positions and multiple formations. Can be a steeper learning curve vs a traditional offense that can get a freshman up to speed on one specific position in one specific formation or even on one specific route.... I have high hopes for Webb and kind of wonder if the WRs transferring out thought there might be too much competition for 2023...

Maybe I am thinking of someone else, but I believe Webb was injured in fall camp and that put him behind.

Nimrod was the one that people were high on. But injuries. Webb has potential still though obviously.

We have plenty of WR play. We had more WRs catch at least 10 passes than Ohio State or the number 1 passing offense Washington did.
