Why do the Gators get so much love from the polls?

I'm just wondering..... How come Florida is no.7???? They loose back to back games they were "supposed" to win. It's one thing to loose to Tennessee and drop to 7 but they barely dropped and then only dropped 3 spots when they lost to South Carolina, a game in which they were definetly favored to win. Am I in la-la land and making no sense or what?

Hell to ask them they should be undefeated still if only the officiating was better hell they are even complaining of the officials in last nights game and they did'nt even see it to gators if they win they are superior if they lose it's those shady refs pathetic.

They dropped to #5 after UT loss, then to #7 after SC loss. It is also a function of the fact that Tennessee's stock is rising, plus what other teams have been doing, plus the fact that both losses were on the road and were fairly close.

This will sort itself out. Florida beat a 13-6 Ole Miss team on the road a couple of nights ago without the Gators' leader due to his idiocy in riding a bicycle. Got Kentucky this weekend. With Humphries out, going to be difficult but at least its at home. In the meantime, if Tennessee continues to win it will keep going up in the polls. Would not surprise me to see both teams around #10 when the return game is in Gainesville on 2/22.

This post is weak. Everyone that loses a close one has fans that blame officiating. But the coaches and team and vast majority of fans say UT outplayed Florida a couple back and we look forward to the rematch in Gainesville.

Don't take what a couple of extreme fans say and label all Gators as having said it.

True and not all gator fans are that way but man cmon complaining about a game that your team is not involved in and you did'nt see that's pathetic.

Thanks, Dude, and I am glad to be here. Sorry if I jumped on you about painting with too broad a brush. We all do it from time to time.

C'mon. this is a lame one. UF has only lost two games and no one is undefeated at this point. #7 is not unreasonable. Besides, these ranking mean very little unless you are a bubble team for the NCAA tourney. Conference Champ will be decided in Nashville and Ntnl Champ in the big dance.

i agree mostly with everyone except davol(i could hardly understand your ramblings) on this. it just seems to me that loosing to 2 unranked (at that time) teams warrants a little more slippage in their rank. i do agree it's also because of UT's rising stock. good post lawgator

I'm sorry it was complicated for you I do not think I can make it any easier to understand alot ( not all) gator fans blame the officiating on their losses esp. to us and I find it humorous for someone to complain about officiating in a game they did not see not sure what's so hard to understand.

i understood it, it was just hard because it was one big run-on sentence with no puncuation. i could tell when one thought ended and another began

I tend to do that on message boards.
