ever have to be the anything other than the home team and bat first? Noticed SEC tourney was same way.

Sorry, I don’t know how it works.

Someone can correct me, but it has something to do with when 2 teams play, if one has already been the visitor and the other hasn't, then the former team is home regardless of seed. I'm not sure why Florida was home team in the SECT Championship though, that might have been a coin flip.

I think it's been that way a long time.

Florida had already been a road team multiple times, while we had only been the road team once. Since Florida had been the road team more times, they were the home team in the championship.

It's the Tennessee rule. Any thing to take an advantage away from UT is what the rule is.

It’s how it works, but it shouldn’t be that way. One team won all year and that should warrant the right to be home throughout the winners bracket atleast

My impression based on the comments they made was that since we were home first game and they were away first game that they would be designated home team. The inference was that had GT won the first game and also a home team we would have been awarded home team based on higher seeding with equal home appearances.... but not directly stated.
