Why does Ohio State get recognition

While Ohio State serves their penalty of being held out of Big 10 championship and national title play, why do they get recognition in the polls. I will never understand this. If you committ the violations, why do you still get recognized? The NCAA is a joke.

Because CUM will have tOSU competing for a NC once their punishment is complete, kind of like USCw. They still have a very talented team and CUM has a proven track record of being an excellent recruiter.

Because the NCAA has no authoriy
over the AP poll. They can vote for anybody they want. Teams under sanctions are excluded from the coach's poll. That's the way it's always been.

because, when tOSU, had to hire a new coach, they went and got a winner, that brought credibility to the program

The most outrageous part of the Ohio State hype machine ESPN is running is them acting like Ohio State was down in the dumps for all eternity before sweet family man Urban Meyer came along to save them out of the goodness of his heart.

I was wondering the same thing. So if they go 12-0 and are the only team to do so they'll be #1 and yet not in a bowl game? Pretty stupid. Shouldn't be ranked on anybody's polls.

It's only the AP poll.

The coaches poll and computer polls will refuse to rank (or in the latter's case use them) since they are ineligible for postseason play.


Why they AP poll refuses and continues to actually rank them...who knows

But really, why does the AP poll cont. to rank them?
