Come out and tell us who it is? I just gotta feeling whoever It is, has already been hired. Why do they wait and wait and wait. National signing day is approaching faster than it seems and well damnit, we all wanna know. They made a good point on the radio the other day, you just need to go ahead and announce who the new coach is and let him and his staff hit the road to do some recruiting, and get ready for the 2013 season. I just feel like holding it in is doing nothing more but hurting the program.

He may know who he wants but until EVERYTHING is signed, sealed, and delivered he will not announce it. That's the media trap that got Hamilton in trouble over and over. The lid seems to be very tight and it should be.

If the person is still coaching his team, there's no way an announcement will be made until at least their regular season is over. That protects all parties involved.

Whiney chat room posters will have to accept that fact.

The OP is the same guy that tried to hitch a ride by trading his wife but could afford tickets. Then he wanted to go tailgating in Athens. Meth is a terrible drug.

:lolabove::lolabove:Since an offer has gone to Gruden and he's not in the secret category we can assume he's to pricey for our budget. I'm hoping it's Stoops or someone in his league but I think he would even be higher than Gruden. Folks if it's Golden level person then it's going to be business as usual. Try to heard the sheep back to Neyland with an inferior product. I see no reason why a Gruden counter offer is not made public today.

Do they not at least have to interview a minority? I thought this was some rule that came up awhile back, might be nfl though?

If anyone had been hired, it would have been leaked. There will be so many lower-level admin personnel working on the contracts, payroll, etc. that it is highly unlikely such a move would stay hidden.

Unreal.....

People were fussing about Hart not pulling the plug fast enough on Dooley and now you want the savior of all to be announced in just a couple of days? Wow.

THAT is where I remember him from. That thread was hilarious. He's probably one of those guys at the gas station whose grandmother passed away up in Michigan and he needs money to get to the funeral.

I never hitched a ride anywhere you idiots. Pacer purchased three tickets for me and my wife and son for the NC STATE game. We had promised our son but had fell on hard times, I asked for help and Pacer was nice enough to help me. I then got a job I had applied for a while back and now we are rolling. Me and my wife and son went to the UGA game, with tickets we purchased. We also went with tickets we purchased to the Mizzou game, there was a father and son looking for cheap tickets and couldn't find any so I decided to pay the favor back that Pacer was generous enough to do and got two tickets for them at the Mizzou game and they were thankful. So get your facts straight before you start ****ing out of your mouths.

He has not hired a new head coach. Just lessened to an interesting conversation posted on Rivals between two gentlemen I didn’t get their names but they implied that Hart took the Tennessee job knowing that Dooley’s days were numbered. He also knew that Tennessee was in a deep hole financial will very little funds in reserve. He indicated there was less than 2 million after the renovations. They said Hart was aware that Tennessee was not recruiting or being coached on a level to be competitive in the SEC and that a lot of changes would have to be made to make Tennessee relevant in the SEC. They even talked about the style of uniforms. Hart is not using a search consultant and will be doing all the interviews and negotiations himself. Hart has also been to the Chancellor of the University and has been given the green light to spend what is needed to make Tennessee relevant again in the SEC. The University and the donors will provide the money. In simple terms get the best coach you can buy and re tool the program all the way down to the marketing and uniforms. If this is true then we are going to get back to having some pleasant Saturdays and Holiday travel plans.

:good!:

Stoops has not dominated a fairly weak Big 12. He would not do well in K'ville.

Who knows if Gruden is actually a possibility? Maybe Gruden doesn't even know right now.

There are some very good coaches out there. "Splash" is limited to Gruden and no one else I've heard mentioned. Any other coach just picks up where Dooley left off and can hopefully continue to build the program up by hard work.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be Gruden... They just can't announce anything due to his ESPN contract. It'll be a few more weeks I'm afraid. :). Anybody less than Gruden would be another Dooley.
