Why doesn't TBA host any tourney games?

I dont see why we don't host any tourney games. TBA is a large arena with citys like Atlanta, Nashville, Lexington, and Charlotte just a couple of hours away. Thoughts?

The crowd for the regional final between St. John's and Ohio State the last time the Sweet 16 was in Knoxville pretty much explains why they don't come to town.

I'm pretty sure that they are coming for a Women's regional like next year. I doubt it for men though.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect much turnout in K-Ville for anyone other than the Vols.

If they put North Carolina,Duke, or Kentucky here it would be sold out.

I have been told that it has to do with hotel space (fans, teams, media, etc.).

because they all arent with in two miles to TBA?

I remember watching the Big Dog vs. Grant Hill matchup at the Tommy Bowl.

Seems like that was 30 years ago.

When was that?

I remember the crowds being near full during the 1994 regional with Purdue (beat Marquette) vs. Duke (Kansas).

1999. Also, Duke beat Marquette and Purdue beat Kansas. That's when Big Dog dropped a thunder dunk on Ostertag's head.

Most of those places are hosting games themselves.

I was there for that one. Purchased them in advance, for obvious reasons. lol However, I really enjoyed that game.

It does certainly feel like it was forever ago. 15 years now. :no:
