Florida is reeling after two straight losses. Currently 17-8 and 6-4 and with six games remaining, I think it evident that they MUST go 3-3 and win a game in the SEC tournament to get in, and I don't see it happening.

Florida's last six are:

Auburn
@ Ole Miss
UT
@ Georgia
Vanderbilt
Kentucky

Florida cannot beat Vandy and UK, period. I think Pearl continues his domination of UF and in fact you beat us by double digits in Gainesville this year.

That means that, to get in, we'd have to win the games against Auburn, Ole Miss, and UGA. Florida is better than all three, but two of those games are on the road and Florida just cannot win all three, IMO.

So, I believe UF finishes, at best, 8-8 in conference play and they'd have ot get to the SEC tourney finals to get in at that point, with their crappy RPI, and that is not going to happen.

Turns out you cant spell "NIT" without UF.

But we have Final Four memories in Indy and Atlanta to last a lifetime.

That has to be depressing.

Not as depressing as never having won B2B titles in the first place.

Football is and always will be king in Gainesville. The way I see it those hoops titles were gravy....the football titles are the meat and potatoes.

True. I say the same things when we lose. But at the end of the day I realize that I'm just as passionate about bball.

I'm passionate to a degree.

What I hate most about losing is losing when you're expected to win. I can handle losing to a team that's better than you if the effort is there, and I'm elated when we win games we're supposed to lose. But I can't stand losing to a team you know you should beat, especially when expectations are high.

I look at the SEC East and there aren't too many teams that I think UF is talented enough to beat, hence my indifference.

Thats the way I see it playing out. I find it a little crazy after all the success that Billy D had in the past with all the NBA players and NCAA championships and now he can not even make it back to the NCAA tournament.

I just hate when our players act like they would rather be at Chandlers Deli than playing for an SEC championship every night.

Not even close. Last year we may have had top5 talent in the SEC, but we haven't had the most talented roster in the SEC the last few years.
You're right, my point wasn't very clear.

Your team has as much talent as anyone in the conference, it's the team thing they struggle with at times.

It's just hard to develop any type of chemistry as a team when guys are getting suspended one week, injured another week, kicked off the team the next, and bringing in JUCO point guards and walkons every year to replace the terminated ones. Most of the time that is the formula for consistent 10 win seasons.

Tennessee was the most talented team in the SEC by a large margin in '07-'08.

I think Kentucky had more talent in their starting 5 that year. LSU and Miss State had a lot of talent on their roster too. If we had the most talent, I don't think it was by a wide margin.
