"I will tell you this, and you can write this. We will get it done. This place is too special. The only variable we have is time. Somebody may say, `Why the heck are you doing that?' Because I believe in it. I believe in Tennessee football, I believe in our fan base. I gave up a lot to come here because I want to be a part of building something special and having that responsibility of getting Tennessee football back. I love Tennessee. Our pride and our passion for this place drives us every day in recruiting, in developing our players, and if it kills me, it kills me. I'm going to put everything I have in it to get Tennessee football back."

Fans--- we don't have the talent or the depth to compete at this point in the season after 7 top 10 opponents. But butch will recruit them, develop them, and win. Bowl game is on the way, fans. Have faith..!

People really should take that into account...

SEVEN opponents ranked in the Top 10. Easily the toughest schedule in the country. That will wear any team down, especially one that is lacking in talent & depth.

Coach Speak

That's right! That's exactly what any coach would say. CBJ is speaking the truth. We have to be patient, we are still at least 2 years away from truly competing with the big boys on a consistent basis.

The ONLY reason to still have hope in Butch at the point is his recruiting. He's shown us nothing so far in player development, game planning and execution, and motivating players to overachieve.

If it weren't for the great recruiting class and recruiting momentum, then it would be worth considering whether or not we are wasting more time with him.

“I know the SEC has enjoyed taking advantage of our tough times,” Dooley said. “But there’s a nice mood on our team right now that you’re not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore.”

Coach speak? No the man is a competitor and has passion about his craft more than I can say about the last 2 coaches. I believe in CBJ I have hope with him in charge the recruiting class gives me faith. We haven't had that in a looong time.

I still think Butch is the guy, but it's frustrating watching the team play worse each week for the last 3 weeks.

ONLY? No excuse for today's performance, but I put some stock into upsetting Spurrier in year one and taking Georgia to the wire.

Some people act like we haven't won a game this season. The over/under for this team to start the year was probably 6-6, and that was when people thought Missouri and Auburn weren't going to be very good.

I think the coach is required to speak after the game. What should he say, I quit?

It's just that I have to make light of it to keep from going bonkers. Butch would really be better off dismissing a whole bunch of those players and recruiting 85 of his own all at once. But the NCAA doesn't allow that, of course. So he has to make do with what he has unfortunately. Surely, the coaches aren't as bad as this team played today. That was disgraceful. Auburn hasn't scored that many points but once this year and that was against Western Carolina.

I know we have look bad the last few weeks...and it has a ton to do with our opponents. I think he has brought discipline to a bunch that really needed it. Our turnovers and penalties have been cut down big time. We just have to let the process take place. When he gets his players in his system, then we will see if Butch is truly our guy. At this time, he is our only option.

I know it's hard becuase I want win just as bad as anyone but I promise if we give butch time to recruit and get his players in things will change in a good way. He's already proven he can get top talent.
