Why I still love Butch

I tend to agree. But, being the sunshine pumper I am, I think one year is a bit soon to start firing people, regardless.

I agree. He shouldn't. Staff stability is more important from a recruiting standpoint. Firing coordinators shows weakness within the program and we definitely don't need that.

Look, to this point Tennessee hasn't lost any games to less talented teams and we've beaten one team that was more talented than us.

I'm not big on moral victories, but I'm also not big on moral losses. As bad as it was, today was a loss---just as UGA was.

A "loss" is not just a "loss" when you lose in the fashion that we have lost this year! And its not just that we lost to a better team or that we were supposed to lose to those teams. That is the point that is escaping people. We are getting beaten badly, very badly - and have looked quite disinterested at times.

This team has not even been competitive in all but one of its losses.
Read my last post. You didn't give any credit for UGA loss, if I recall.

Look, I understand we all want to see progress. But first, progress in football doesn't plot perfectly on a line graph. This team has hit a wall. It's hard to watch. But we are really about one game ahead of our talent level right now. Let's see what happens against Vandy.

I disagree. There are good losses and bad losses. GA was a good loss. Today was a bad loss. After the GA game the recruits were impressed. I can't imagine many were impressed today.

You're right, to a degree, but UGA was still a loss. Same as today. I'll worry about how out losses look once we start winning more games.

And unless we start losing recruits, I'm not going to worry about that aspect. Butch seems to keep trucking in recruiting regardless.

I apologize in advance for not having much optimism about the Vandy game and for that matter the Kentucky game.

FYI I did give the Vols a good bit of credit for a heartbreaking loss to Ga. however I do not believe in moral victories. But it is more demoralizing IMHO to lose in the fashion that Tennessee has at the hands of Oregon, Fla, Bama, Mizzou and Auburn (in no particular order). But we all have opinions.

I agree with everything but FL. I thought we competed with FL somewhat.

Has any UT coach lost this many games by 3+ td's in one year, regardless of schedule.
4 of the 5 losses have not even been competitive

Vandy is going to be a tough game. It's good we have two weeks to prepare. And Kentucky is on the road so nothing is a given.

The players bounced back after earlier losses to battle UGA and SC, they can do the same now.

We aren't good. The only debate is why.
