Why in the hell does Melvin stand and dribble for 30 secs!!??

Let me ask you this: would you rather have a guy who's not that great on offense but a fantastic defender on the court or a guy who turns the ball over like it's a hot potato?

I'll take Goins over Golden at this point even though I'd prefer to have neither.

At first he stood there. Then Jones called something which wasted about 15 seconds.

It's hard to watch. I agree. He's a great defender, but he's useless in a halfcourt offense.

Were you even watching, every time Goins came in we lost offensive mojo. Golden had it going and moving the ball tonight. Goins leads the league in Time of Posession, GUARANTEED!!!!

Goins played his worse game of the year. He will bounce back from tonight, but he can't keep jacking after he is already 0 from 5 for three. Although Goins did not have any turnovers, he only had 1 assist.

Yeah they act like we are winning the game.. But it shows we could use Hopson. The game calls when they can't make a basket and we take a three from Mcbee when we should of driven the ball is ridiculous. But Pearl better come back with a vengance and take care of the rest of SEC.

I'm telling you Goins waits and shoots the deep 3 every time the game is on the line. one time this year he will make one of those and it WILL not be lucky, he has had practice

0 points and 1 assist.... which came on the pass to tobias with 12 sec left in overtime. horrible PG play tonight.

Best half-court offensive rhythm in college basketball. Unbelievable that we only shot 34% against Alabama with the offense we run that continuously creates easy shots.

I have to admit. I get tired of watching this same flex offense at times. I mean you can predict what we're gonna do every time down the court in a half court offense. Goins hasn't played good since putting the clamps on Villanova defensively.

We need a PG in the worst way. I even miss Bobby Maze now. He could get to the rim and became a decent 3-pt shooter. He was much more of an offensive threat than both Goins & Golden.

In a half court offense we look scared to death a lot. That's with or without Hopson in there too. I think SEC teams are locking down on what we run offensively.

It never changes. We might change sides of the court we attack but the same flex cuts and movements. Goins and Harris set out top and pass the ball back and forth like some sort of hot potato match. It's boring to watch.

Then, we get down below 10 seconds on the shot clock and panic sets in. Goins dribbles around trying to makes something happen. He does make something happen alright. Not something good most of the time.

We really don't have an inside game though. Other than Williams we don't have a consistent scorer inside. Harris plays outside more but hits the boards well. Hall is never going to make a scorer inside.

We're in real trouble next year on the inside. Williams will be gone and Harris isn't a true low post player. That leaves Hall & Maymon. Boy, doesn't that look promising for inside scoring?

Are we even recruiting a true Center or PF that can score in the low block? If not, then we're all perimeter next year as well.

Melvin is a big game player. 3/4 of his best games this year were against Pitt, UCONN and Memphis. He scored 15 or more in all of those games, which is pretty amazing. He also played great against Nova. That being said, Melvin is 3/19 the past 3 games and is in a MAJOR slump offensively. He can't hit crap and is shooting very stupid shots. I think he doesn't try as hard when he is not playing against elite guards, which is why he has played so poorly recently. Look for Melvin to rebound against UK tomorrow night.

Goins just isn't a natural PG IMO. He has the physical tools, and at times he'll make a nice drive and dish or make a nice pass, but he frequently just doesn't make the right decision at the right time. I really noticed it going back and watching CJ Watson his Sr year and seeing how he played it.

:loco: I can ( no could ) coach betten than Bruce. He is a coach. behind 16 point only 4 minutes to go and no pressure on the ball when on defence. And then when on offence let the guards just dribble around at the top of the key. :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:
