Georgia is 12th after beating Missouri by 1 and Nipples State at home by 2 (that's one point per Nipple).

West Virginia is unranked after beating Missouri by 15.

Why is OU still ranked at 1-2 and what should be a 3-0 Okie State or a 2-1 TCU not ranked?

Same with Ole Miss.

The answer to all three is the same...the name on the jersey. UGa no more belongs at #12 as OU and Ole Miss deserve to be ranked at all.

Because of a gritty determined come from behind victory over that perennial power house Nicholls

I hope you spelled it this way on purpose. Awesome.

Wow I knew I butchered it and just trusted auto correct. Let me try that again

Perineal. That is what apple AC gave me

Perennial. Got that by starting with pere instead of peri

Fixed it

First of all, polls are as much based on results as potential and expectations. Secondly, WVU is only 2-0. With a home win over a bad Mizzou in their first game, and a 3 quarters of sucking against a below average FCS team.

Sure, Georgia struggled with a league opponent on the road. That's called college football, and you take that W any way it comes.

Also, they're WVU. Their ceiling in big boy football has been 7-5, and below .500 in league. Why would voters put them in now, just to inevitably take them out when they're fighting for bowl eligibility? I watched some of the Mizzou game, WVU is going to struggle to score enough points to beat anyone not named Kansas and Iowa State in their league (just like every year since they joined).

Some other teams being left out that have comparable or better resumes: South Florida (3-0),Minnesota (3-0), Wake (3-0), GT (3-0), Maryland (3-0), Army (3-0), Boise State (2-0).

Oh yeah, it's week 4 and outside of the Top 10-15, no one has a shot at the playoff anyway. So who cares.

UNC would also be a better team than Youngstown St, Nicholls St and Missouri.

Wasn't impressed with UNC in the Russell Athletic Bowl and not impressed with them now. You got something else? :dunno:

Johnny Jefferson rushed for three touchdowns and a record 299 yards, and No. 18 Baylor ran past No. 10 North Carolina 49-38 in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Tuesday night.

Despite missing two quarterbacks, an award-winning receiver, and a 1,000-yard running back, the Bears' No. 1-ranked scoring offense stayed creative, pounding out 645 yards rushing and 756 total yards -- both records for this bowl.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a huge potential upset coming. Willie Taggert has USF playing very well, will be interesting to see how FSU responds.

Because poles at this point are setting up drama for tv viewing, and because the poles are NOT based on computers (numbers), they are voted on by humans with opinions and agendas.

Well you aren't a voter so your opinion doesn't matter. This is exactly why GA is ranked. They beat a team, in UNC, that the media and coaches think is a quality opponent. Now congrats on the Russel Athletic Bowl win. I hope it was worth it.

Of the polls that are out right now, which have a bearing on the College Football Playoffs?

Some do realize non of the polls matter.

Some of the polls (AP) do matter to some.

Bewbs thinks she is the damn General, does that matter to anyone besides her?
