Why not Ferguson

I knew it was just a matter of time until the idiots came out wanting another QB change

I've been consistent in saying let Dobbs play the year out. He hasn't lost games for us and does have a lot of potential to improve.

Today it seemed like Butch told Dobbs not to lose. He didn't, but is a work in progress. The problem is that we are deficient in so many other areas that patience isn't easy when the situation requires you to put the game on your qbs shoulders. He's not ready for that yet. In his defense, he's started against two top 10 teams in back to back weeks, opposed to Memphis or the teams Bray started against his freshman year.

Auburns defense is not that good...certainly no better than SC and North Carolina.who Bray played very well against as a true freshman....say what you want, but Dobbs doesn't have half the arm talent that Bray had...Bray was launching missles as soon as he started playing...haven't seen one wow pass by Dobbs yet.....

We love trying out our 2nd string players. I'm sure the coaches are playing the best we got. We just don't have a lot right now.

I agree with your last sentence. He hasn't shown arm strength of Bray, but he's not Rick Clausen either. All I am saying is let the kid grow up.

Worley is hurt and we won't see Ferguson, so at this point its Dobbs or Peterman. Auburn's defense isn't great, but neither is our offense, before or after Worley was hurt. We almost lost to South Alabama and the WKU game should've been closer than it was if not for their offensive meltdown. Our offense has sucked all year, no matter the QB. Worley gave us the best chance to win at the time, but he's out for the year. We go with what we have and hope for the best.

Dobbs has some growing to do, but again, he has the least amount of experienced weapons around him than any of the other true freshman qbs we've had. North is a talent, but still a true freshman without experience or time to acclimate to the SEC.

The backup QB is always a Volnation favortie
True, but I was calling for Ferguson to play, so he feels he has a chance to play next year, and doesn't fall too far behind. I don't think that playing him would change the outcome of the games in which Dobbs has played.

Dobbs is not a good passer...her just isn't.... Way too many lib throws and lacks any touch on deep balls and constantly throws high or low...doesn't have the ARM talent nor the killer instinct that we need at qb...and is hesitant to keep the ball on reads...and can't seem to sniff the endzone....I agree would like to see Ferguson..

I agree ! In no way did Dobbs loose this game but you are dead on with everything you said. At halftime I said that if he doesn't start keeping it on more reads then he is no better than Worley because Dobbs is actually worse at passing anything more than 10 yards with any accuracy.

Now, I do want to see Ferguson but understand if e don't see him. CBJ may know he will go with him next year and if that is the case, a redshirt would be very important. However, I also think that Ferguson will transfer if he is not the QB next year. He did not come here to be QB2.
