Why the VOLS hate CBS

The early to mid 2000's CBS was good for Tenn FB. I mean with all those commercial breaks it gave the defense time to catch its breath. I think those two announcers are the best in the business of announcing but I hate CBS FB ganes because they are the LONGEST games every week!

So what is the record on ESPN (or any other network) over the same time frame? Maybe we have just "hated" all TV.

I love college football as much as the next guy, but sitting through an almost 4 hour tv production is nearly unbearable. I'm not a fan of the NFL's wham, bam, thank you ma'am 2.5-3 hour shows much either. 3 hours is about right. There has to be a happy medium.

And what is even more ridiculous? ESPN schedules its games every 3 hours to fit in as many as they can. They know damn well that a game won't last just 3 hours. I am ok with the time, but you are right that they are getting long.

Verne is just getting old. With my parents being from Dallas, they are quite familiar with Verne because he started in the Dallas market. He had a great reputation. But, he is just getting old and can't get things correct.

I actually think Gary is good and makes some insightful comments. I can see how UT fans may not like him, but I think he just started with CBS in 2005 or 2006. That was basically the start of our downfall, and he really hasn't been given a chance to say good things about us. If Butch gets us rolling, that may change.

I can live with Verne, but I don't like the commercial break every punt, kickoff, start of quarter, injured player, etc.

There was one funny thing I remember watching the UGA game he said about McCullers after he made a tackle.

Something to the effect " McCullers is a big guy, he is 350 or 360 ... I don't know he is huge"

Edit: I forgot the thing I hate most about the CBS game. The ref crew they usually covers the CBS game!
I thought crew last week was balanced more: we got a few breaks, but lost a few (td catch at 5 yard line).. To me, not so much the week before.

It's rough sitting in the sun on the East side for 4 hours!

Gary Danielson sounds like Verne's pet troll, he just has kind a whiny voice. Also, if I hear Verne yell "WOW!!" one more time I might hang myself off my balcony.
