I was watching ESPN last night and they shared statistics on how initial rankings predicted the final four teams making the College Football Playoff. It was very eye opening.

Teams ranked #1 in the initial ranking have made the playoff 7 / 8 times as have teams ranked #2.

Teams ranked #4 have made the final field 4 / 8 times, but teams ranked #3 have only reached the playoff 1 of 8 times.

I know it will all "get settled on the field" and I do feel good about our chances to beat Georgia, but if we want to potentially get in as a one loss team, it's important that we start at #1 or #2 out of the gate.

I mean yeah but that doesn’t change our circumstances.

Beat UGA and we’re in unless there’s a huge upset AND we lose the SECCG.

Lose to UGA and we’re out unless UGA wins the SECCG.
It really is that simple. Win out or root for the dawgs on 12/3/22.

That left a bad taste in my mouth when i typed it. The fact they would likely play bama makes is kind of like bad mouthwash...it helps but not much😎

That is the thing with statistics; they are unpredictable. 🤣😂, I watched that show as well, so far, UT has been playing outside any statistical data, they are on a whole different math level.

I really want the VOLS to take care of business on Saturday. Being in a position of needing help from other conference teams, or other teams in general leaves so much up to chance. Not to mention opinion of the people in the CFP committee room. Not winning on Saturday could leave a doomsday scenario of Ga plays Bama in SEC title. Bama wins, all three teams have one loss, but TCU and Clemson go undefeated and final top 4 are Ohio St. / Michigan winner, Clemson, TCU, and Bama because they won SEC. Hell with that.

I am going to nit pick here..

Stats are meant to be broken. They are reliable.

If they're playing Bama, you better believe I'm rooting for the dogs.

After losing in the SECGG Georgia dropped from 1 to 3 in CFP. I thought Georgia caught a huge break last year with the Cowboys loss to Baylor in B12CG. 1st and goal at the Bears 1 for the W and the Bears kept them out of the end zone. Cowboys were 5 in the CFP before the final poll. If Cowboys score they make the playoffs not Georgia.

Anxiety creeping in.

I was reading an Alabama board their hypothetical scenarios since we hung that L on them lol. We just gotta win...
