Sure our attendance has sagged a bit and our program has struggled mightily in recent years but through all that one thing has NOT changed. What other program could sustain 5 losing seasons in 8 years and still have the support we do. What other program can create a literal hell for the opposition like we can when things are right( 2009, Georgia, South Carolina,2012 Florida when we actually were close) What other program draws nearly 40,000 fans just to a open practice.
Sure Other great fanbases do exist but in my opinion none of them are able are able to match every single thing that I mentioned.

I used to think that too, then I visited a Fulmer thread.......

It was nice to see so many fans show up for a practice. I think it says a lot about our fan base but I also think it says a lot about the excitement CBJ is creating around this team.

We have some really great fans. The best? Nah.

Hell, half the fans on VN are still fence sittin, "realists" who are "cautiously optomistic" that CBJ "might" be a good coach but they wiil withold their full support ( for fear of being disappoined) "until they see how the season plays out"

Cubs fans. Packer fans. Raider fans. True believers!!! We don't hold a candle to any of those crazy m f'ers. I wish we did. Sorry to burst your bubble. GBO

I do love the team and the fan base, but for the record, there wasn't 39,000 people there the other night.
Unless about 10,000 people showed up after I left, there really wasn't.

this is good.. n im n the cbj might be a sec.championship level coach. he is good coach but is he a sec championship coach.. i just dont know yet so why blindly walk around life n have conversations with rival fans n go yes cbj gets it therefore we r back..

its just not true n personally i want to confidently feel we can compete with anyone on any given sat but cbj has not proved that yet..

Throw in a look at a Justin Hunter thread and posts about C Patt's intellect and you might think we have the worst fans in all of college football.

Or any old Arian Foster, JP Prince, Scotty Hopson, Ainge, Bray, Crompton, Clausen (either one), .......

But in general, Bama fans have us beat by a long shot. They will still wear Bama tee shirts to a job interview, wedding or funeral even if they have a losing season :)

Don't forget that Tee Martin is the scum of the earth too!!

That's what you and so many others just don't understand.

Fan is short for "fanatic". Everyone knows that.

Fanatics don't give a fat rats arse about TRUTH, or LOGIC ,or PAST RESULTS. And, fanatics certainly don't give a flying f*** what an opposing fan thinks about our trash talk if we should lose. That's all a part of the fun that makes college football the greatest sport on this planet. Sometimes you eat steak, sometimes you eat crow. I've eaten plenty of crow in my life braggin on my Vols, and I'm not dead yet!

Enjoy it! Savor it! Don't be such a puss!

Be a 100% fan (fanatic) and live it to the max!!!!!:banghead2:

Interesting.....I find that pro sports fans are much, much more realistic about their teams than college football. Pro fans have no qualms about admiting how bad they are. It's a nuclear meltdown if a poster on VN thinks we might not get to a bowl.

Clever!
I'm guessing you weren't there. They weren't counting at the gates, either.

Even the News Sentinel said 39,000 was being very generous. Still, if there were 25,000 there for a practice that's pretty impressive.

Butch Jones said he wanted 40,000 people there. Well, there wasn't anywhere close to that so what was the harm in announcing 39,000?
