the discussions i've been catching up on have been really interesting and it's great that we are actually concerned about the polls again, this late in the season...and the disucssions about all the different scenarios etc...are fun at the end of the day, so i'm not taking anything away from it...
but, at the same time, do we really need to be worried about the polls?
in the end w's and l's will take care of it and for us this year, at least to me, it was more about getting back in the mix and beating some of our rivals again. So far i have to say mission accomplished.
we are 2nd in the East, with an outside shot at playing for a SEC title this year.
We have beaten two top 10 teams, and beating UGA was sorely needed after how they've dominated us the past few years.
10+ win season is not just a goal at this point, it's a liklihood.
Top five/ten ranking is not on the horizion, it's a realistic finish.
BCS bowl berth isn't a long shot, it's right there in front of us.
Beating Bama, UGA, SC, LSU, CAL and Ark doesn't seem to be so unacheivable now.
TN's offense is no longer offensive.
Erik Ainge the WR's are not questions anymore...they're the answers.
I think the 1st BCS poll is crap too. no way Cal should be ranked ahead of us. But no more than i think we should be ranked ahed of FL in the AP or Coaches' polls.
simply put, it's nice to be back in the discussion again, instead of top draw in the "biggest disappointment" category on every knowsn sports information outlet.
the polls will take care of themselves, so long as we take care of business.
Go Vols, Beat Bama!!!!:clapping:
