There are numerous reasons why coaches leave to another program.

I would think the chance to coach in the SEC is incredible but if you don't have a decent record 7 plus wins consistently YOU WILL get canned.

Louisville is MOVING into a better, stronger conference regarding football.

Basically, he has better job security at Louisville/ACC than any other coach at an SEC job.

Because he's an SEC guy, and feels like he can win big in the best conference in CFB. Maybe he can, or maybe not. But I would hope he would have that kind of swagger.

Is he an SEC guy or a specific SEC team guy? 4 openings this year. Ole Miss had one last year. I'm pretty sure Vandy had one two years ago and FL.

I want a coach that is on everyone's list. If not, it seems like a gamble. TN needs a sure thing.

Too be honest, I would go HARD for Les Miles right now.

That's delusional and there's no reason to get into the specifics why because it should be obvious.

I don't disagree that he could view the move to the ACC as good enough to keep him there. The AD and University is committed to winning and they love him. There is more job security.

On the other hand:
SEC job
Top 10 program with a massive fan base
Elite facilities and a commitment by the AD and boosters to continue upgrading and adding
Biggest recruiting budget in country
More resources (almost unlimited when looking at the amount resources a program will ever have)
A strong brand and history that though means little to recruits now can sold once we start winning again (see Bama)
