This has already been a long season lol. When you go multiple games without breaking 40 is hard to watch. Hopefully this a just a slump and not a sign of ability.

Not looking too far ahead at "must win" games, but this one gets as close as it can even to be this early in the season.

TN RPI is at 134. Wichita St is at 18. We will make a significant jump back into the "bubble zone" with a win. With the SEC as bad as it is this year, we will not have that many opportunities to improve our RPI, so IMO, this game is a must win. We have no good OOC wins and only 2 more opportunities left. Memphis is not looking like that good of a win at this point in time, so maybe only 1 more opportunity with Xavier.

I agree this is a huge game...a loss would really put Tennessee in a tough spot.

Looking at their starters....

I like that their PG isn't a 160lb speedster, about the same size as trae, that's good news.

Also, their better players seem to be their post guys, that should match our strengths IMO and I like our chances of our guys holding their own.

They don't have a guy much taller than stokes that have been the type to give him issues. Their bigs are his same listed height and he has the weight add so thats good news.

They also aren't an extremely long team like Virginia and Georgetown so that's also good news.

Edit: they do have a 7 footer who comes off the bench and plays about 15mpg.

May come down to whose Hall plays best tonight.
Could provide a special challenge for Kessling.
Bet he goes to Karl or Kenny.

I think McBee and / or McRae hitting a few 3's will decide the game. I'm predicting McBee will go 4/6 tonight. Shoots good at home and a liability on the road. Totally different team when a few 3's fall. That will be enough to get a win.

That's what I asked him to change, be consistent home/road...to this point he hasn't.

The difference last year was insane like 45% at home 25% on the road....hopefully he and McRae are on tonight.

I think they will bring it tonight. Still it will be an ugly close game. I'm predicting the score in the low 50's.

Good news for UT guards; bad news for Stokes.

"While starting guard Evan Wessel will miss a second straight game with a hand injury, 7-footer Ehimen Orukpe is expected back after missing the last three with an ankle injury. The senior has not played since recording five blocks in a 75-63 win over Iowa on Nov. 21."

"He's 7 feet tall, so he's obviously the best player in the world."

Please.

A "McBee for 3" will occur in one of our first 3 possessions. If it goes in it could be a good sign.

sorry guys, I should start including bench players as well for the type of teams that go deep. Wichita State will use a lot of different players and Marshall will switch it up on us. I think Kenny Hall has a chance to be a man tonight. If we could get some breaks in the paint with more consistency, it will open Stokes up some. Trae has to take really good care of the ball tonight
