Wide receivers not dropping balls tonight.

I mentioned in game thread and someone said dont bring up for the jinx. Now that the game is over. Proud of receivers tonight. Not dropping balls is just as important to Joe Miltons passing as his decisions. Nimrod and Thornton impressed.

A part of it is on the wide receivers, but a part of that was Milton, putting some touch on the ball. The deep ball on the blown coverage was one of the first ones all year that he floated up in the air. Made it a very catchable ball. The big catch to Thorton while he was rolling to his left was also thrown at like 80% speed.

Jordan Palmer hit the nail on the head in saying that he throws so hard it is to his detriment. He didn’t say that because everything is overthrown… He said Milton needs to be taking a little heat off most of his throws and that’s what I thought we saw some tonight.

Many of the drops were wide open wrs that had to catch a 150mph rocket. And also, a lot of the drops were thrown behind the wrs. Makes it even hard to catch a slightly off target pass when it’s thrown unnecessarily hard.

Joe was accurate tonight, especially when flushed out of the pocket. Really proud of Joe and great to see him play lose. We have some really special talent on defense and the future is bright. Go Vols !

Best game of the year for JM and receivers. We need more tight end over the middle 8-12 yds would be nice.

It’s literally the 1st game all season without any drops. Great to see the receivers especially Keyton and Thornton making plays and catching everything thrown their way.
