She's +5 thru 13 in round 1....
Time to quit flirting with the men's tour Michelle, and get about proving yourself in the LPGA....

I'd be willing to bet that Nike is advising her to play every Men's event she can. Can you imagine the media coverage she's going to get the weekend that she finally makes the cut in a men's event?

Not sure the media in a frozen over hell will be that interested in the story. :D
There will of course, likely be plenty of media around. They'll just be circled around Barry Bonds and T.O.

this is my first post about wie
all i have to say is that she needs to be focsed on the LPGA rather than the PGA
it seems that The LPGA is 2nd to The PGA
if she wins about 5-6 major championships in the LPGA then i wouldnt have a problem with her playing in the PGA but she hasnt even won one so go figure

I think it's good that she's playing on these smaller events... It's not like she's on every one of them. They're just interspersed. And it makes the places money because ESPN pops a big cubby every time Wie is in a men's tournament.

But I do think that the PGA needs to outlaw sponsor's exemptions. I know it will piss the sponsors off, but people will want to watch golf all the same. And it will make sure that everybody earns their way just like everyone else.

And as for Wie's future... She does have the talent to win a major down the road. But she's in over her head right now. She needs to develop that winning mentality, yet she's never won anything at any level because she's playing years ahead of where she's at.

So in essence.. I think it's a good idea if you want smaller tournaments to make money and golf to get exposure in the short run, but for the sake of Wie's game if she really does want to compete, hell not even the LPGA. Play some more youth leagues before she steps it up.

stick to the lpga. women have their own golf association. not trying to sound sexist, but how ridiculous would it be if a woman actually won the men's pga championship. (probably never gonna happen, but just something to think about). in sports where there are separate leagues for men and women, there doent need to be any crossing over.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I think she should play whenever and wherever she can. She's got more talent at 16 than most golfers male of female will ever see in their lifetime. She should take advantage of it as she sees fit. Who cares if she gets a couple of sponsor's exemptions every year? It's the sponsor's prerogative and they might as well get some mileage out of them.

As for the idea that she needs to learn how to win; she's finished a combined 5 shots out of the lead in the last 3 majors . . . and she's 16!?!? She's going to win sooner than later and a LOT.

I heard she can't be a member of the LPGA until she's 18. Anybody else hear that? :dunno:

That's a fact. She can only play a limited number of events right now.
