Granted, this year's class was pretty stacked, but Bernard King is perhaps one of the top 3 SEC players of all time, led the NBA in scoring on more than one occasion, and took a year or 2 off after knee surgery, came back and led the league in scoring.

He gets overlooked all the time, and should be elected into the HOF.

If Cynthia Cooper gets in next year and Bernard King doesn't, just burn the building down.

King will get in soon.

He deserves to make it in.

It seems like he has been on the ballot for a while. Do you know if there is a rule -- like there is in baseball -- where a guy can only be on the ballot for so many years?

I`ve always said pound for pound, inch for inch, he`s the best I have ever seen! If he does not get in its a shame!

I couldn't help but crack up when looking at the group photo of this years' class... Michael Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton,... and C. Vivian Stringer.

You are exactly right. He is the best basketball player I have ever seen. He was unstoppable anytime he wanted to be. He almost single handily got New York to the finals in 1983 or 1984. He is a HOF player for sure, whether they put him in or not.

It's amazing to me the accolades she now receives. I really think she is receiving these more as a result of the Don Imus situation than her actual coaching. I mean, who is going to make a case that Stringer belongs in over Bernard King? It's a joke.

All the rumors I heard about King during his college years were that he drove Mears over the edge, alleged cross dressing and theft of a TV. Anybody remember that?

Sorry, but no. She's 813-269 in her career. Great womens coach.

But no, I'd never say that she deserved to get in the HOF over Bernard King.

Which is my point. She has received more notoriety because of that incident rather than her coaching and likely would not be in that class if not for it.

I guess he could have wore dresses too, but I think you're thinking of Jackie Walker.
