I am a fan of the pressing, frantic pace of Pearl's man to man defense. I have been very impressed with our defense the last 2 ball games which have been played in mostly zone defense. I just wonder if Pearl is having second thoughts about his man to man defense with this current squad. The team has looked more cohesive and giving the needed help when someone gets beat off the dribble in the zone defense. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

We kinda need to with only 9 players playing, Man to Man is good but you get tired quick the zone lets you rest and not move as much, i agree if it aint broke, don't fix it.

I think its to our advantage that we have very long rangy players. you saw what JP did yesterday he was snagging and tipping everything coming his way. If we play with that level of focus and intensity we can really slow down any team we play

I think not having a true center is going to force us to play zone, unless Wayne can handle their big. I love Hall, but he's a small 4. I think all the zone vs KU was just because Cole & co are so huge, and Chism was in early foul trouble.

which teams have a true center that we will have trouble with?

aldridge was by far the best true center we'll face the rest of the year. hall did a great job holding him down scoring wise but that guy was a monster collecting rebounds

he was the best and still not dominant, even with us in foul trouble. I don't see us shifting anything around to handle a center. Our issues on D start with keeping guards and wings in front of us.

I will say that the helpside D is dramatically better with Hall and Woolridge on the floor, so getting beat didn't hurt as badly, but KU missed a lot of open drive and dish looks.

Cousins is very good...He would be putting up a 20/10 if he learned out to stay out of fould trouble.

Hall is right at 6'10, with long arms. Weight wise...he's probably 220, but you can manage that in the SEC.

Also, I disagree with Kansas being so "big." They have one true center in Aldrich, and the Morris Twins are Power forwards. UK is a much bigger team with Patterson, Cousins, Orton, and Stevenson. That will give us trouble size-wise.
