I have been watching alot of Cinci game film, and CBJ offense looks wierd......as in its a mix of spread and Pro, with no huddle.(90% of the time)

I have never seen this offense in the SEC.

It is like The Spread and Pro hooked up and had a baby.

Will it work? Only time will tell I guess

Alabama ran the wishbone for decades and then they changed offenses. I am sure that people said that it would not work because it had never been done in the past in the S.E.C.

I have decided to not get excited about "Everything U.T.'
anymore. It is going to take years and years and years for us to get back to a championship level. I am not going to experience anymore highs and lows about it. I am going to remain even keeled.

It will first of all, take about 5 seasons until we are competitive again. Then, we have to wait until the other S.E.C. teams that are currently on top, experience a lul in their program, so we can pass them up.

Then we will be on top for a few, few years, then we will slowly begin to degress again. College footbal is cyclic. We will experience "Up" periods and also "Down" periods.

Just wait until spring practice. Jones has the system already, and now has SEC athletes to implement it. Expect a few new wrinkles in the offensive set that are bound to give defenses fits.

I think people get too caught up in schemes on both offense and defense. As long as we have the players to execute the plays on both sides of the ball, we'll be fine. The coaches in the SEC are smart and will adjust to whatever we do that's working. There has to be a balance of pass/run and it seems that Butch's teams have always been balanced.

IMO, not much variation from Chaney offense. Personnel returning ( pig, Q, Dallas, etc....) fit scheme. With line as our strength, more emphasis on run game ( Lane and Neal).

Honestly, I am more concerned about defense. Anything would be an improvement.

I agree with 90VOL about having the players and people worrying about schemes. Some people wont like it at first but it will be fine.

Expect a lot more zone read and vertical stems in the passing game than you saw under Chaney.

Based off of our strengths. We might have 2 backs over 1000 yards.

Please explain how you believe that UT will have 2 backs rush for over a 1000 yards each!!!

2012:

Neal 708 yards

Lane 658 yards.

The last time UT had 2 1000 yard rushers was 2004.

I like Lane however the fact is that neither is a top caliber SEC running back.

And I dont know how anyone can think that the offense will be better or even as good in 2013 considering the loss of Hunter, CP, Bray, Rodgers, Rivera and possibly one or two linemen.

Seems I remember some people saying CUM's offense wouldn't work in the SEC. 65 wins and 2 NC's later, some people were obviously wrong.

You have no basis to believe that it will take that long. To say that we won't be competitive until 5 years from now is ignorant and only your opinion. Besides, your use of the word "competitve" is super vague. You need to be more specifica. We should, IMO, if CBJ ends up being a good coach, be competing for the east in 2-3 years.

We have an OL and enough talent to run any offense. If we had any kind of defense this year, we would not be having this conversation.

I am not worried about the defensive scheme. It is whether we have enough talent that is bothering me.

Texas A/M did pretty good this year. And they won in Alabama.

We have a massive offensive line, young receivers, and a very young qb. Our backs didn't get as much carries as they will this year. I think those two will get enough carries to do it if they average 4 yards per carry. We did lost Dallas Thomas, whom wasn't good pushing piles., and Bajakian will adapt his scheme to that.
