Will Chris Leak be a Heisman Finalist?

Both Lee Corso and Kirk were saying he was sneaking up in the race and coule be 2nd behind Troy Smith.

But then again Lee Corso still is sticking to California as his NC pick.

Due to what seems to be no clear cut frontrunner this year, I think he possibly could, depending on what he does against even tougher competition down the road, especially since he is already billed in the top 3. We'll see...

i guess he could be. quinn is probably out of the race now. it depends on how he'll be able to continue to learn/execute meyer's offense.

in terms of winning it, no he's not a heisman quarterback. being in new york, maybe, because there isnt much competition.

No. Chris Leak was not dealing with the pressure very well. Not saying it was all bad plays, but most the time we put 6 guys coming at him he lost his cool. A quarterback will not win the Heisman in the SEC if he can't keep cool under the blitz.

I could see him being in the race but its goin to be hard to beat out Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. your national champs bucks this year.

LOL @ Ted Ginn Jr., he's not even the best receiver on Ohio State, Gonzalez is far better than Ted Ginn Jr.

Chris Leak Heistman Finalist?

No way!! Oh I fogot they don't give this trophy to the best player. They give to whoever they like the best. And oh'yea they don't watch the games they just read the papers. And oh'yea the guys writing the articles their reading haven't watched the games either!!! So I would say he has a pretty good shot.

Screw the freak'n HEISTMAN TROPHY!!!

If he's even in the discussion right now, he won't be after the LSU and Auburn games.

Leak may be in consideration because he's playing for a high profile team and he is a good QB. If UF wins out (or one loss) and he's in good shape. A key loss or a couple will knock him out.

That said, I think he and Ainge are about equal in talent. Russell and Cox are pretty much in the same area. All good but none great.

Quinn isn't out yet. Playing for ND, the preseason hype, Weiss and some big numbers to come will put him right back in it. (which sucks!)

If Leak wins the Heisman, I'll eat at Hardees after breakfast. Isn't going to happen, and eating at Hardees after breakfast is a serious threat.

Florida would have to win the SEC championship and go undefeated to have any heisman consideration.
