Will Grier has announced that he is skipping WVU's bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft, This is the first time I heard a player voluntarily skipping a bowl game. One poster on the WVU fan website stated Grier cannot spell "Team" because there is no "I". His draft stock should go way down IMO.

Kind of a dumb trend.

Can't remember the case of a high profile player with a major injury in a bowl game that derailed their draft status. Maybe the Miami running back many years ago.

Not even close to being the first and it will have absolutely zero effect on his draft stock
Maybe not but it should have effect on his draft stock. If I was a NFL owner or NFL coach I would have a negative opinion on it and it would cause me to probably pass him over if I had been considering him as a draft option.

I did not hear anything about a major injury. I believe he has chosen to skip the game voluntarily.

It shouldn’t and it doesn’t. Guys like him that have a very legitimate shot at the NFL are protecting their future livelihood. Don’t blame them at all

One of the most selfish things I ever heard. It is like an NFL QB skipping the last game of the season because he knows he is going to play for another team the next year. He is letting his WVU teammates, coaches and fans down.

It is a financial decision. I don't blame a guy but don't think I would make that decision.

He's not the only one this year. There are several players skipping bowl games this year. I heard a list of names on the radio this morning.

Personally I wouldn't skip as a QB. I can understand it but I don't like it
I think it sucks and I wouldn't be surprised to see the NCAA address this soon. Everything is about money. Your star QB wants to sit then the fans decide not to go to the bowl game. Bowl game and NCAA lose money. NCAA then addresses whats going on.

The Notre Dame DL/LB? Jaylon Smith tore his leg up pretty bad in their bowl game a few years ago and fell to the 2nd round, i think he missed a year and a half or so before he could play again.

It won’t help or hurt but he’s missing a great college experience.
