I think the rule is they have to donate the amount received to a charity.
Reggie Bush disagrees with you. The NCAA's standard of "proof" is very different from the judicial system's.
The worst that will happen is the investigation takes the first three weeks of the season. A&M holds him out of those games just in case and right after the Bama game they say they couldn't find any proof.
That's not going to happen. A&M won't hold him out pending an investigation. What's the worst that could happen? Vacating games? They won't win without him, so vacating isn't much of a punishment.
This autograph thing looks pretty bad. He'd be suspended, at a minimum. and might even be ruled ineligible to play college foosball again.
But if the Manziels decide not to cooperate with the AA, they seem to be the types that won't, then there is this:The worst that will happen is the investigation takes the first three weeks of the season. A&M holds him out of those games just in case and right after the Bama game they say they couldn't find any proof.
While the NCAA doesn't have "Subpoena power" I think they can get their hands on Manziel's bank records. The way I understand it, he is pretty much forced to cooperate (whether honestly or dishonestly) or he can face a suspension for not cooperating.
