No hillbilly just a UT fan in SC. that got the privalge of spending a week with Crompton when he played in the Shrine Bowl 2 years ago. He impressed me then and I hope he gets his chance at UT!

I only said that because if you read our threads many people on this board hope and pray that Crompton will be our statting QB this year.

Sounds good to me. I know his high school coach well and he said that Jonathan is a tough, hard nosed kid and from what I witnessed in the NC/SC Shrine Bowl game he is all that and the box of chocolate.

I agree.

Crompton is a stud. He also is one of those kids who has been excited about being a Vol for a long time.

I predict he'll have a street on campus named for him in the future.

I hope he does, I'm tired of people saying we haven't had a good QB since Peyton, which is a lie, we've had decent ones....Casey was good, and Tee was great, now....we're lacking but it won't be long....all I can say is watch out, we'll be back next year

I'll just go with whoever Cut says is the man. I know he seemed to prefer Ainge when he came in. Is that still the case?

I dont know where you heard that! The last i heard cut said the slate was clean!! Regardless of what cut says the best one will play fulmers job depends on it and they all know they have to turn this around!

I know, I will support whoever gets the job. Ainge may have been the reason I started following the Vols, but I am not an Ainge homer. I just thought I remembered hearing Cut say Ainge has got what it takes or something like that.

I know the quote you are referring to. He did say something to that effect.

Well with the notion of Fulmer job being on the line, I guess that there will not be much politics in UT football and the best players will play this year. I don't know alot about Crompton, but I pray that he is as good as you'll say he is. We need to restore the UT pride. I can't wait for UT to come to Memphis, because I will make ESPN ,right next to the band singing RockyTop, hope to seel some of ya'll there !

From what I've heard, I don't think Heath was what you would call a cerebral QB.

I think Cut had some nice things to say about Ainge.

My fear with Ainge is that he's got a real mental block and there are players who have gotten messed up in the head and never found their way back to the light.

I personally believe Crompton's potential is going to reveal itself when he hits the field. This kid has it all. He's got a super arm, reads the field like a hard-drive scanning for an open receiver, and he's not slow getting out of the pocket if he has to.

I will be there, won't be singing Rocky Top though. I always enjoy the UM/UT games.

Come On Man, you have to sing RockyTop, just because it pisses the rest of the world off :banghead: . God I love being a UT fan :dance2: !

I seriously doubt that you'll be able to convince a Bama fan into singing Rocky Top. If you ever do though, let me know. I'll give you a trophy or something.

We may all have our preferences on who we want but when it comes down to it, it will be who Cut feels has the best potential, the coolest head, and the greatest feel for the game. He wants confidence, leadership, and vision. I'm sure both Ainge and Crompton will both play their hearts out and work hard on Spring Practice. Regardless of who we want or prefer, the best man will win. We will not see the battle over who the HC or the OC prefers like last year. Fulmer will give full confidence in Cut to make the decision and Cut has proven he can handle this and even those issues larger than this.

You are right. I thought whoever Cut hated would get the job...wheh! Good to know it is whoever he feels is the most prepared and better suited. I need clarification for that one
