What in the world is going in Louisville with the basketball program? They are 0-8 right now with losses to teams like Wright State, Bellarmine, and App State. They are now in ACC play and looking at their schedule, it seems reasonable to say they might not win a single game this season.

Coach Kenny Payne is from the John Calipari coaching tree and a Louisville alum. One would think he would be a hell of a recruiter. Doesn’t look like that honeymoon will last long.

When you get past the top blue bloods like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC & UCLA, you could make the argument that Louisville is the 6th or 7th best basketball program of all time. This year’s version of the Cardinals might be able to make the argument that they are quite possibly the worst power 5 team of all time.

They play at FSU tomorrow, who is 1-9, then host Western Kentucky, FAMU, and Lipscomb, after that they go back to ACC play the rest of the season minus the UK game on New Year's Eve.

Western and Lipscomb are both decent though neither have exactly played a tough schedule. If they can't win any of the next 4, especially FAMU then there is a decent chance they don't win a single game.

Just as baffling that FSU is 1-9.

Scott Drew offers little to no NIL money and still brings in 5* and high 4* recruits. There has to be something more happening at Louisville besides NIL money.
I suspect Kenny Payne is a nightmare on more than just a PR level. The whole "I'm looking for the real Louisville fans" and "I'm not going to change what I'm doing no matter what" tells me he's unwilling to assess his own performance and make changes he needs to make. He appears to feel that what he's doing at Louisville is "making things better."

It’s college basketball. They’ll screw up and win a couple.

Hope that Huntley-Hatfield at least finds some success with the cardinals. Seems to be becoming their top scorer based on the last couple of games

I'm sure they'll win some. I don't know why they are so bad this year. I wonder if it is from their guard play.

If by "last couple of games" you mean the CIncinnati game, which is the only game he's been the top scorer.

You’re right. I thought he was the top scorer in the maryland game for them but looks like there was another player who scored more.

Has anyone in the Calipari coaching tree been good? I can't think of anyone.

Pastner is probably the "most successful" and he's not very good. Just glancing at the tree, Bruiser Flint at Drexel had a winning record, but had 0 NCAA tournament appearances in 15 seasons; and he might arguably be the best coach on that tree.
