For sure! He's going to have a great team this year with Hopson back and Harris added; and also the 2012 class is looking very promising.

It scares me knowing that Brian Williams is going to be a leader.

I wouldn't be too worried. Despite him not being a top scorer, he has 3 entire years at UT under his belt. Besides Pearl, he's the only regular contributor who can say that. You don't necessarily have to be the best player to be a good leader. Of course, I could be wrong lol.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to Brian Williams off the court. I could be wrong.

Well if you've ever seen him out you'd be hard pressed to imagine him having good leadership skills.

Hmmm I was thinking that these leadership abilities apply both on and off the court. One thing I know is that Brian knows he must be a leader, and it seems like he has put forth the effort, as many players have referred to him, Scotty, and Melvin as the leaders. I personally have faith in him right now, but I'm a realist; I also know he could wind up being worthless in that department.

I have, and I certainly understand your point. The exact same could have been said about Chism. Saw him out everywhere before Jan 1st, never thought he'd develop into what he became.

He was a rebel back in his "slangin' tires" days for sure....

Lol it's true tho! I seriously saw him acting a fool a lot at Gateway and Quarry Trail apartments on the weekends. I think Brian, like Wayne, can flip the switch on to work-mode at his discretion.

While we're on the subject, Rucker tweets:

Vols Sr PG Melvin Goins: "I need to lead (this team), but I'm comfortable with that. It's a big responsibility, but I can take it."

If this team is going to reach its potential Tobias Harris is going to have to be its leader.

I'd like to see Tatum lead.

For sure. I hope he does since he's healthy now and he has a lot of experience. This is why I really like our line-up this season, as long as Hopson improves the way you would think he would after all the elite camps, RTL display of skills (yes, I think it means something, but not everything), and positive reviews from the off-season (even from Bilas and ESPN!).

Rucker tweet again:
Vols Sr PG Melvin Goins: "We’ve proven we bounce back from adversity. We capitalize on adversity. We don’t just get through it."

Saying that because people act stupid off the court is bad leadership. I spent 5 years in the Marines and I will tell you that we had guys do the dumbest things out in town but when their uniform was on, they were some of the best leaders you would ever know. I know that there is on-court and off-court leadership. But on the court is where we win basketball games. I think Brian Williams will be a leader on the court. Off-court he may have some room still to work on.(but he can get other help there) just my thoughts

It would have better if he said "I need to lead (this team), but I'm comfortable with that. It's a big responsibility, but I can take it. If I fail, I will just go smack Cousins in the nuts."

I find the nutshot more effective than elbowing someone on the ground.
