Will SECE champion be 1st or 2nd best team in conference?

Posed one FF thread and thought of a better general conference question for this season.

I think the east champ will be at best the 3rd best team in the league. Likely behind at least Bama or Auburn. Anyone think it's better or worse?

As far as record, or overall quality?

Because Missouri was the second best team as far as record last year, but I would have picked 3 or 4 West teams over them as far as overall quality.

Then I would say the East champ is likely to have as good a record as the West champ, if not better.

But I think the East champ will likely be 3rd in terms of overall quality, if not worse.

So, 3rd behind Auburn and LSU. Where does Bama fall into your predictions?

I'm curious what 4 west teams you'd pick over last years Missouri. I could see 3 maybe but four seems a stretch.


I believe UGA could concievably be the legit second place team in the league. If they put it all together. They play Bama and Auburn so it's possible they pick up one win to move ahead in this theoretical ranking. I could also see them losing both and letting another east team sneak in for the division. Preferably UT.

Bama destroyed Mizzou. Auburn and MSU would have as well, and probably Ole Miss had Good Bo shown up.

Of course they could. But as always, Mark Richt will coach at least one game with his head buried in his anus, so who knows?

I think MSU could've/would've beaten Mizzou as well.

Clearly if Tennessee wins the East then the East Champion is the best in the SEC!
