I know some people have asked this question in jest or anger, thinking that somehow the Lady Vols will get on a roll and get a high seed. But, seriously I'm looking at the best case scenario for the Lady Vols as finishing 18-11.
Here's how I see it:

Definite losses
Notre Dame - a 30-point-plus debacle waiting to happen
South Carolina - the new power in the SEC
Kentucky - Our girls can't handle the thugs
Mississippi State - up and coming

Probable losses
Auburn -- They beat Kentucky
Texas A&M -- had a bad loss to Arkansas but they are ranked and have beaten ranked teams in Duke and Oklahoma.

Coin Toss
Arkansas twice -- Did I mention they beat A&M
Georgia -- 0-2 in SEC but both opponents were ranked
Vandy twice -- we'll lose at least one of these

Probable wins (and none of these are gimmes)
Ole Miss
LSU
Alabama twice

18-11 probably gets them in the Big Dance but they'll meet a No. 1 seed a lot sooner than normal. Of course, they could implode and end up with a losing record.

Any thoughts?

Yes. I think I'm gonna throw up in my mouth. Very depressing stuff to contemplate!

I think they will make it to the tourney, but not go far.

I also think for the first time in a long time (ever?) the lady vols will drop out of the top 20 poll

Watching the LV slide just within the conference is just sad.....gone are the days when we could look at teams at say that's a win

They'll be lucky to make the tournament. Then it will be a one and done. Same for the SEC tournament as well. Sickening to say the least.

The Lady Vols will make it to the NCAA Tourney even with an 18-11 record because it is the house that Pat built. However, judging by the way we are currently playing, our stay in the Tournry will be short. There are way too many teams playing much better and consistent good basketball.

And with less talent. They have coaches!

They'd have to fall pretty far this year to not make the tournament but the defections after this year will be telling. The house that Pat built is crumbling.

You are right teacherdan, it will be half a charity and half a nostalgic bid for us. Probably something no other team would get the benefit of - the way they are going, the team certainly isn't going to earn it :(.

While there's certainly something sour with this roster, and I'm not on board with Holly as the head coach of the future, there's no way I can imagine 18-11 or not making the NCAA. Things are certainly bad but that bad? I just can't comprehend it.
