Will the NY Times bring the GOP together?

In a NY Times article meant to smear John McCain, other news organizations, politicians, Dems and Rep. alike coming out against the article as tabloid worthy material, not befitting the NY Times front page, and clearly agenda driven, could this light a fire under the whole GOP to pull together? The us against the world mentality.

I've heard rumors that the NYT is going to hire Mike Nifong. He should fit in well with an organization that convicts without any evidence to support the allegation.

I heard today, that they are in total spin mode, now going to come out with sunday's edition saying that McCain is now to close to many lobbyist. The guy has been in Congress how long? You go down the line at anyone who has been in service that long, they probably know every lobbyist. Also, are they going to do a special on Harry Reid, who's 3 sons are paid lobbyist?
