If this has been answered somewhere else....just delete. But with all of the controversy with the band and travel...I am hoping they are there. Butch shaking the drum majors hand and climbing the ladder next to her while directing "Rocky Top" was a great touch!

The Pride is travelling to Alabama, with the traditional Concert in the Park in Chattanooga en route. All is well.

Does it matter?

Yes!! I've been to the UT BAMA game at BDS several times. Rocky Top is wonderful to hear on the road when surrounded by crimson. Be even better when they're playing it after we kick their tails Saturday!

Every time that UT plays at Alabama.....the Pride stops in Chattanooga and plays at Miller Park in downtown Chattanooga. After AshG confirmed....I found the link where this is happening again. This is the link and is well worth going to...The Pride Of The Southland Band Comes To Town Oct. 25 - 10/15/2013 - Chattanoogan.com

Not just the Alabama game, Georgia as well. Because Georgia/Alabama alternate home/away on the schedule every year, and because the Pride stays in Atlanta for both trips, the Miller Park concert is always right on the way down.

The only change this year is the band trip to Alabama is a one-night only trip. They have to travel back to Knoxville after the game. This trip has ALWAYS been a two-night trip at least as far back as when I started in the PRIDE in 1976. I'm so glad it's an afternoon game. If it had been a night game they wouldn't have gotten back to Knoxville until like 4 AM. That's unacceptable.

Who is to say if it had been a night game that it wouldn't have turned it into a 2 night trip?

You are right. I live in Chattanooga and have been several times. It is always great to hear the Pride play Rocky Top in downtown Chattanooga! I am so excited about the game.

The Athletic Department said even it it was a night game, it was still a one night trip. These trips are planned and rooms reserved early summer. You have to plan ahead to reserve rooms for 350 people. It's nothing you can do on short notice. (wait until game times are announced the week before game day.)
