They've set themselves up for a HUGE QB battle next year. Who will step up to the plate and take over? Or will Richt have himself a Fulmer dilemma?

They won't be as bad as we are this year, IMO, but Richt does have a history of mishandling the qb situation at times. Hell, he created one out of nothing a few years ago just to keep Shockley happy.

Here's a snippet of the potential fire from the AJC:

Quarterback

This spot will be more closely watched than the crown jewels.

Junior Joe Tereshinski has a game of starting experience — a loss to Florida — but that may not matter when it comes to finding a replacement for D.J. Shockley.

Sophomore Blake Barnes and freshman Joe Cox could emerge as the quarterback battle leaves the spring and heads into the all-important summer. With Barnes having another year under his belt and a better grasp of the offense than Cox, look for him to have the better spring.

Cox, however, might have the largest upside of the trio. And if he can become a leader in the offseason, the Charlotte native could make a run for playing time in fall camp.

The wild card is prize recruit Matthew Stafford. While it's highly unlikely he'd contend for playing time, he Texan will enroll in January and be a part of spring practice.

That means, with four quarterbacks, just getting time to shine will be difficult. So whenever the opportunity presents itself, whichever one can respond will have the edge going into fall camp.

Is it just me or are there a lot more QB controversies these days than there used to be?

Ya...let's look at Sanders and Richt

Richt - Ward (Heisman), Greene (All-Time NCAA winner), Shockley (SEC East Champion)

Sanders - Uh...nevermind

No comparison

Richt will be fin

Will there be a load of transfers or will they all be like Shockley and patiently wait their turn, if there is one?

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not as convinced that our QB situation was created because of the two-headed monster. We've gone through it before and been fine.

RC is what he is, a mediocre cerebral player who can run the offense with limitations.

EA is what he is right now, which is a QB who is either severely undertrained or lacking in football instincts - or both.

Neither one of those things was created by them both playing, in my most humble opinion.

Cox is good. He played behind Chris Leak and started his last two years at independence high in charlotte and threw 109 tds and 8000 yards. He also threw to Massaquoi (sp) in high school who is also a starting Wr at ga. Seeing him play i feel he is better than leak.
By the way that high school currently on a 90 game winning streak and number 5 in USA today. Not too shabby.
