Here's a snippet of the potential fire from the AJC:
Quarterback
This spot will be more closely watched than the crown jewels.
Junior Joe Tereshinski has a game of starting experience a loss to Florida but that may not matter when it comes to finding a replacement for D.J. Shockley.
Sophomore Blake Barnes and freshman Joe Cox could emerge as the quarterback battle leaves the spring and heads into the all-important summer. With Barnes having another year under his belt and a better grasp of the offense than Cox, look for him to have the better spring.
Cox, however, might have the largest upside of the trio. And if he can become a leader in the offseason, the Charlotte native could make a run for playing time in fall camp.
The wild card is prize recruit Matthew Stafford. While it's highly unlikely he'd contend for playing time, he Texan will enroll in January and be a part of spring practice.
That means, with four quarterbacks, just getting time to shine will be difficult. So whenever the opportunity presents itself, whichever one can respond will have the edge going into fall camp.
