Will we still have a basketball team this year?

I'm being sarcastic, but I cannot believe how thin the frontcourt is going to be. I'm not questioning Pearl's decision in regards to the two players at all. And, it sounds like he has some good recruits on the way for future teams, but this year might turn out to be very bad. I guess it will be all about showing his system/style of play to fans and recruits.

I think Pearl has his plan, its not going to be instant. Recruit and sale UT B-Ball as it should be. Wanna Ball or be a Baller? Either way UT plays on and you contribute, or Go home, with that "I own something" attitude!

I hope to this day "Powder my butt Patty" never makes it back on court, Better yet campus.

with patterson and hendrix (again) in trouble over the fight with brooks, the team may be worse than last year. We gotta quit recruiting these kids that can't stay out of trouble. OTOH, Pearl is the best thing to hit campus since trooper taylor.

Give Pearl a year. The UT basketball team can turn into something special, but Buzz Peterson screwed things up pretty badly. If you guys make the NIT or even no tourney at all this season, don't fret. Pearl can do this.

yeah this first year might be rough, but we will get to see Pearls style of ball and i am looking forward seeing how he interacts with the students at home games

I don't believe we will be playing in the post season this year nor would I expect us to. But that does not dull my excitement about whatI expect Pearl to put on the floor which is disciplined, aggressive, all-out-full court-pressing basketball and 24000 people on thier feet. I don't care if he wins the games this year as long as he wins the fans. Win the fans and he will win the big recruits. If the blue hairs think they are going to come to TBA to catch up on thier knitting in this house, they better think again. It ain't our Moma's house anymore and you might not want her there. It could be scarry!

Man I hope you're right. Don't get me wrong, I love Tennessee football as much as anyone else, but I kinda wish the season would move along so we can see what's going to happen on the hardwood.

I agree. I'm no b-ball guru, but the main thing they have to do is give him time. Plus fan support always helps, so when things start slowly we need to make sure we get on here and bitch and cry about how they need to fire him.
