Willie Herenton

Willie stepping down was a great day for Memphis. Hadn't heard/seen so much celebration in years. This city already sucks, but getting him out of office was the 1st step to making it better in Memphis. The last thing Memphis needs is him back in office.

Man i've been away from memphis for the bulk of the summer, but it's my understanding it's the talk of the town. Maybe he will run for mayor of Lexington now.

And with 10+ people splitting the anti-Herenton votes, "Dr" Herenton will be back up on the 7th floor.

This video made me angry. How could that city elect him over and over and over again?

If the people of Memphis wish to continue voting for this jackass, that city deserves to continue to wither on the vine. I grew up in Bartlett, and as long as he's never able to touch that city, I don't care what he does.

It's the same city that elected Harold and John Ford multiple times. Oh, and don't forget Ophelia. She even has a talking doll.

We're a majority black city + every election there's shenanigans. Willie is notorius for getting the dead out to vote.

Call it what it is in reality. Black racism.

Mother Teresa could run against murderer/rapist Willie Horton in Memphis. Horton would win.

Same reason crackhead Marion Barry was re-elected in Washingto D.C. after being caught red-handed.

zzzzzzz....

and I live in Memphis, unfortunately...

many of the voting locations in predominately "white" areas were "malfunctioning" and there was no attendant in the area to fix them. most of the morning crowd was unable to vote.

coincidence??

AC might be better than Willie. But only marginally. The one guy I thought truly had the good of the city at heart that could also win got dominated. *shrug*

I can't remember who it was but I heard some political "expert" say that "AC is Herenton with a smile and a better attitude." That sounds promising.

What exactly has AC done for the county? Honest question.

Ohh nothing much just his time in office he raised property taxes 24% and im trying to figure out what the owners got for that 24%? I like AC. as a person, nice guy, but he is in bed with King Willie. But the voters have spoken and I wish AC. and the City of Memphis luck maybe he will do some good with it.
