of defensive back coaches. Produces less than average results but always has a job—usually at high level programs.

2) Huepel’s has had a great string of QB’s that can run his system but IMO Milton isn’t one of them. Even with amazing arm talent he lacks the tangibles to be a great QB in this system. If Heupel wants an 8-9 win season he better move onto Nico. Now.

3) We’re just not very good at the line of scrimmage when it comes to physical football, especially offensively minus Cooper Mays.

4) Most disappointing thing about last night’s loss is Florida isn’t any good. They’re average at best.

5) Going to need much improvement to beat teams like S. Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, etc.

I’m with you on all points. Although Florida is not as good, they always play like Florida against us in this rivalry game. They played like a very strong team on Saturday.

Agree. Especially with Milton. Quarterback being the most important position means if qb play isn’t good…your team isn’t going ti be good. It can be that simple. Heupel seems keenly aware now that Milton can’t run the place he wants to call as we have abandoned many of the down the field passes and predominantly throws screen passes now. It’s a shame he was unable to anticipate this would be the case. Many of our fans assumed that would be the case with Milton at the helm this year. IMO…he should have given Trevon Jackson a bunch of reps last year and let him know the job would be there for him this season.

I really thought after the show he put on in the Orange Bowl, CJH had Milton seeing the game like he needed to. I’ve said all along, we only go as far as our QB will take us this year.

But!!!! Milton wasn’t the issue in Gainesville. They punched our guys in the mouth and we didn’t punch back until it was too late. Bottom line!

Absolutely correct. But you will now be tagged a hater. I have been and really don’t care. The truth hurts sometimes

Not all, but most of the national championship teams of the last 10 years (lsu, bama,Clemson) all had 1 thing in common. Best qb in college football at the time. Must have good qb play in today’s game to excel. Not mediocre

Agreed. Heupel surely had a clear picture of what Milton was. He's seen him first hand for multiple seasons. At some point, you just have to accept that he is what he is and that's just not a fit for what this offense needs at QB. Jackson would have made a HUGE difference especially with such a poor OL. I still daydream about Harman running the show this year and being a mentor to Nico. Know that was always a pipe dream, but still, it would have been great to have his influence on Nico. Where I'm really concerned is that we just seem incapable of recruiting/developing/finding offensive linemen. If we think this year's line is bad, wait until next season. We have to dive into the portal in a huge way for OL. Need to hit on at least 4-5 guys who can play SEC football. We'd also better pray that our young line recruits are who we thought they were and that they come on very quickly. Hate to think that we'd waste a year with Nico because we couldn't assemble a decent SEC OL.

Off the top of my head the one thing Heupel has always had running his offense the last 6 or 7 years was a QB that isn't afraid to run the ball. Lock may have been the only pocket passer but I dont remember who was QB at OU when he was there. Go back to last year Hooker always had that instinct to take off when he realized either the pocket was closing in on him or there wasn't anyone to throw to. Milton doesn't seem to want to run very often even when he has 10-15 yards of grass in front of him then throws an incompletion.

This really does kill me. LOL. There is not a chance you have seen them play so far this season.

He was dinged up at some point, but active for most of the year and got a little playing time and blow out wins the latter part of the season
He saw time in three non con games and broke his collarbone vs TN Martin in October last season. Never saw action again.
