Looks as though the Americans are making a better account of themselves. A couple of close calls but the big names are all easing into the second round. On the Brits' side Tim Henman's match against Moya was inspired.

All Henman's matches tend to be that way at The Championships. It's as if he wants to give his countrymen their money's worth early, because he knows there ain't no way he's gonna be there on finals Sunday....

The Americans are through, but they honestly don't look in shape to contend. Not even Roddick. If an American male is in the quarters, I'll be surprised.

*Quarterfinals day at Wimbledon tops the list of things I'd love to, but likely never will, do.

It's all going to come down to Federrer and Nadal in the men and I think Venus probably will win in the women's.

Apparently some sort of car bomb was discovered and diffused today in London. I'm not sure of its proximity to Wimbledon. There is also another car that is being investigated.

Not a car bomb. Iran has issued an offical release, they were just alternative fuel vehicles.
