for 2 more years?

What? Was that part of the contract negotiation agreement for covering up his rape case?

He's gotta stay 1 more, & it's easy to say, "yeah, I'll be here for 2 more years", but why? Why so definitive? Why go out of your way to confirm this after your coach was laughed at for making the same statement?

Let him have another year like this one and let's see what he says. Top 5 money is very hard to turn down.

He's another Vince Young and he'll be a minor blip on the NFL radar by then. This is all talk.

At this point in his career, Winston is miles ahead of Vince Young...and it's not even close.

I'm not convinced either can read or write but if Winston can color an "x" in the blank space where his name belongs on a term paper, I'd agree with you Lawrence.

Your attempt at humor is noted.

Winston is the real deal...and I have no love for FSU.

Your comparison with Young was weak. There is no comparison.

Like Young and the late Steve McNair, Winston will be overwhelmed by a NFL playbook. He'll falter, rely on his legs, and just like I said about RG3, get hurt. I've seen it happen several times. These guys are freaks until they get laid out. And he'll get laid out. Wouldn't be shocked if someone takes a 15 USLP early next year and ends this debate.

You might want to go read up on Steve McNair's pro career before claiming an NFL playbook "overwhelmed" him.

I watched that guy hold a clip board for my Oilers for long enough to realize he didn't know anything about reading a defense. It took him several years to figure out what a 3/4 or nickle in the NFL looked like. He was incompetent out of college and I watched it first hand until they left. He was all athletic talent coming out. Not a hint of NFL caliber brains coming out. Hate to speak ill of the dead, buthe was not a "fast learner" by any damn stretch.

I'm sure Steve McNair knew how to spell the word "nickel".

Every NFL QB stiff like McNair makes the Pro Bowl multiple times and throws for over 30,000 yards in their career...and it's totally unheard of for a QB to take a couple years adjusting to the NFL game. McNair did, Young did not....I'm betting Winston will.

What did he do to tell you he was a brilliant QB in the NFL? What did he do his first few years? Hold a clip board and draw a check. That what he did. Get real. And you, of all people, defending that idiot at FSU has made me open another bottle of wine just to entertain myself with this lunacy.

Cute. I knew you'd be able to translate based on your elected officials. Good for you!

Don't put words in my mouth sparky....you brought up McNair, not me.

I never said McNair was a "brilliant" QB. He's nowhere near the stiff Vince Young was, yet you lumped them together. That's lunacy.

Vince Young was a terrible NFL QB, and a suspect passer in college. McNair made three Pro Bowls and came within a yard of winning the Super Bowl...but yeah, McNair sucks because it took him a few years to figure out the pro game

I think you've had too much wine already.

If you're of the opinion that Jameis Winston is on the same planet as Vince Young at this point in his career, we may as well just agree to disagree.

I watched him in every game for the titans until the end. Managed to win an NFL MVP. You're off base on this one friend.
