First off, this seems like one of the worst showings for Americans in the olypmics. I think the russians have some of these competitions rigged in their favor, just sayin'.

Everybody I've talked to is like, "are the olympics not over yet", because they want to watch their tv shows again.

And my gosh! Could they at least show a few more different commercials than the same crap ones they keep forcing us to watch during commercial breaks, over and over?

I'm over the "what will your verse be" Robin Williams commercial, and the teen babysitter asking for more money, and the about a boy tv show.

**** NBC. Drives me nuts how they hoard the footage.

What's more annoying is how all the morning shows tell you all the results and medal winners before you even see the olympics air later that night.

Hasn't the Olympics been kind of a ratings disaster for NBC?
Technically they are down from the 2010 Winter Olympics I would say just because those were in Vancouver and the majority of the events particularly in Primetime were shown "Live". Due the time difference all of the NBC Primetime stuff is taped delayed and you have ESPN & FoxSports1 running event results on there ticker at the bottom of the screens. Not to mention the internet.

Take for instance all the USA hockey games (Men & Women) have aired live on NBCSN with the games starting anywhere between 5AM-7AM Eastern time.

Now saying all of that NBC has still dominated all the other networks in the ratings every night since the Olympics began.

Take Wednesday night for an example "Idol" usually dominates that night....

NBC Winter Olympics (8-11PM) 5.6 (18-49 rating) 20.81 (Million Viewers)
FOX American Idol (8-10PM) 3.4 (18-49 rating) 11.67 (Million Viewers)

I don't think anyone actually expect Idol to have more viewers than the Olympics though. Most networks probably won't put much weight on viewer totals during the Olympics for the 16 days that it's on. Now that I think about it, I would have expected more than 20 million viewers to be watching on Wednesday though.

Hollywood week is the worst part of Idol. They'll pick up more viewers as they move to the live shows.

I love the Summer Olympics but I haven't turned on the TV during this Winter Olympics at all. I almost forgot they were going on.
